HOLY COMMUNION

Self-examination is essential before partaking of communion.

First Corinthians 11:28 says,”A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.” Read also Second Corinthians 13:5.

A. WHY MUST WE EXAMINE OURSELVES?

Because it is a direct commend of the Bible. And there are other reasons as well.

B. HOW AM I TO EXAMINE MYSELF?

By asking myself certain pertinent questions. There are in fact a good number of questions I must ask myself.

But here are the two most important questions:

  1. Do I really and truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ? Acts 16:31
  2. Am I really born again in the family of God? John 3:3-7

C. WHO AM I TO EXAMINE?

The others in the Church? NO, Myself.

Psalm 139:23 says, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.” Read also Psalm 26:2

Quote

“The whole so-called art of politics, local or imperial or international, is based upon this very supposition, that you cannot trust anybody, and that you must keep your eye on your own interests, making concessions when it suits you.” – D. M. Lloyd-Jones

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men – the testimony given in its proper time.” – First Timothy 2:5,6

WHY?

“If you’re happy, let your face know!”

THE QUESTION:

“WHY IS IT THAT THE BODY OF CHRIST WORLDWIDE HAS NOT MORE INFLUENCE IN THE WORLD?” THAT IS THE QUESTION I HAVE ASKED MYSELF FOR QUITE SOME TIME NOW.

THERE ARE SO MANY CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATIONS AND MINISTRIES WORLDWIDE. SOME TIME AGO NOW I PICKED UP TWO CHRISTIAN MAGAZINES AND INFORMATION ABOUT THREE UPCOMING BIG MEETINGS IN OUR COUNTRY.

THE ANSWER:

“SATAN DREADS NOTHING BUT PRAYER. HIS ONE CONCERN IS TO KEEP THE SAINTS FROM PRAYING. HE FEARS NOTHING FROM PRAYERLESS STUDIES, PRAYERLESS WORK, PRAYERLESS  RELIGION. HE LAUGHS AT OUR TOIL, MOCKS OUR WISDOM, BUT TREMBLES WHEN WE PRAY.” – Samuel Chadwick
