“… CHOOSE FOR YOURSELVES THIS DAY WHOM YOU WILL SERVE, WHETHER THE GODS YOUR FOREFATHERS SERVED BEYOND THE RIVER, OR THE GODS OF THE AMORITES, IN WHOSE LAND YOU ARE LIVING. BUT AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSEHOLD WE WILL SERVE THE LORD.” – Joshua 24:15

EXPOSITION OF CHAPTER 1
THE GOSPEL OF GOD
This is what Martin Luther says about Paul’s letter to the ROMANS:
“This Epistle is the chief part of the New Testament and the very purest gospel, which indeed deserves that a Christian should not only know it word for word by heart, but deal with it daily as with the daily bread of the soul, for it can never read or considered too much or too well, and the more it is handled the more delightful it becomes and the better it tastes.”
Do you think I will ever “know it [the Epistle] word for word by heart” as Martin Luther says? What a challenge!
