Running the Length of New Zealand
Image
At the present time a man from Napier, Peter Newburn, is running the length of New Zealand for a good cause (to raise funds and awareness for autism). His goal is to run the distance in 20 days.
The length of New Zealand from Cape Reinga to the Bluff is about 2050 km. The length of the North Island is about 1070 km and the length of the South Island is about 940 km.
I have been a number of times to Cape Reinga, but never to the Bluff. (Kaitaia is not far from Cape Reinga.)
The existing record for running the length of the country is 18 days and nine hours set by Siggy Bauer in 1975.
Imagine, running 2050 km in about 19 days!
Peter Newburn will be attempting to beat the existing record.

“MAKE NOISE ON SUNDAY” (Sunday, November 11, 2018)
Image
Seeing “Make noise on Sunday”, reminded me of church services on Sunday, also the church services here in Kaitaia.
And I think most of the people here in Kaitaia, who go to church, do not need to be told to “Make noise on Sunday”. They are making noise.
WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?
In Psalm 95:1+2 it says: “O COME, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.”
Read also what it says in Psalm 66:1,2: In verse 2 we read “Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.”
Psalm 81:1: Here we read about “God our strength”.
Psalm 98:4,6: “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth.”
And Psalm 100:1: “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.”
Actually we cannot make too much noise for the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Make noise on Sunday” has actually to do with the armistice.
“New Zealanders are being asked to mark the centennial of the armistice that ended World War I on Sunday with as much noise as they can make,” it says in our local paper, The Northland Age, Thursday, November 8, 2018.
