“Love Nature,” is the second thing I am reading at the beginning of the TAUPO Visitor Guide, I picked up while in Taupo at Christmas.

In the guide I am reading also “Love Exploring, Love Culture, Love Beauty, Love Adventure, Love Whanau (Family), Love the inland sea,” and there is more I am encouraged to love.

“Love Exploring Love Taupo,” it says on the front cover of the Visitor Guide.

And that’s what I did on my short visit to Taupo.

Lake Taupo is called “Nature’s Ultimate Playground.”

The visit was too short to explore much of the town and the surroundings, but I managed to go on the Ernest Kemp Cruise along the lakefront to Mine Bay, where the Maori Rock Carvings are one morning at 10.30am. The Cruise takes about 1.5-2 hours. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies are also free on the cruise.

The Taupo Viisitor Guide encourages us to “Love Nature,” but can I encourage you to “Love God,” who created Nature?

At the Church Service I attended this morning here in Kaitaia young people from Auckland ministered, who had not only “Love People,” but also “Love God,” written on their upper garments.

“Wo der Herr nicht das Haus baut, so arbeiten umsonst, die daran bauen. Wo der Herr nicht die Stadt behuetet, so wacht der Waechter umsonst.” – Psalm 127:1

Als ich vor kurzem deutsche Sprichwoerter las, bemerkte ich, dass einige ganz biblisch sind.

“WER NICHT ARBEITET, SOLL AUCH NICHT ESSEN.”

In der Bibel lesen wir in 2. Thessalonicher 3:10: “…, so jemand nicht will arbeiten, der soll auch nicht essen.”

“WER SUCHT, DER FINDET.”

Die Bibel sagt in Matthaeus 7:7,8: “Suchet, so werdet ihr finden.” “Und wer da sucht, der findet.”

“GEBEN IST SELIGER DENN NEHMEN.”

In der Bible heisst es in der Apostelgeschichte 20:35: “‘Geben ist seliger denn nehmen.'”

“DIE LETZTEN WERDEN DIE ERSTEN SEIN.”

Matthaeus 20:16: “Also werden die Letzten die Ersten, und die Ersten die Letzten sein.” (Markus 10:31; Lukas 13:30)

“MAN KANN NICHT GLEICHZEITIG ZWEI HERREN DIENEN.”

Matthaeus 6:24: “Niemand kann zwei Herren dienen.”

Eins der fuenf Sprichwoerter ist nicht nur biblisch, sondern es ist genau so, wie es in der Bibel steht, naemlich nach der deutschen Uebersetzung D. Martin Luthers.
