Reading “Through new technology we are more connected than ever, yet loneliness is increasing, and civic engagement is declining,” in the article “Clark is face of think-tank,” The New Zealand Herald, Tuesday, March 5, 2019, reminded me of our loneliest hour.

There is a real loneliness, a deep loneliness, a last loneliness. In that loneliness we are all on our own. And one of these days that loneliness is coming to all of us.

Hebrews 9:27 says, “Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement, …”

In our loneliest hour only the Lord Jesus Christ can help us.

“And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” we read in Acts 2:21.

I have focused on our loneliest hour, because you hear and read a lot about the common loneliness of modern man. (The fact is, if we would love others, really love others as the Bible says, we would not feel so lonely.
