“BE A WELL BEING”
We are told to be “a well being”. How do we do that?
Man is not only a PHYSICAL BEING, but also a SPIRITUAL BEING. Since we hear a lot about our physical being, we want to concentrate on our spiritual being.
In order to find out about our spiritual being, we go to the BIBLE.
It has been pointed out to me that the Bible says the following about our SPIRITUAL BEING:
- Job 32:8: Our spirit gives us understanding.
- Proverbs 20:27: Our inmost being is searched out by the lamp of the LORD. (Ecclesiastes 3:21)
- Ecclesiastes 12:7: Our physical part returns to the ground and our spiritual part returns to our maker.
- Acts 7:59: Stephen prayed to the Lord, to receive his spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:11)
- 2 Corinthians 4:16: Our physical being is wasting away, says the Apostle Paul, but our spiritual being is renewed every day. What a promise. Let us rejoice. (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
- James 2:26: Here we are told that our physical being is dead without our spiritual being.
When we are told to “be a well being,” we must always remember, that we are not only a physical being, but that we are also a spiritual being.
