Only One Book
That there is no end of making many books and that much study wearies the body, tells us “The Book of Books.” (Ecclesiastes 12:12)
That there is no end of making many books, I see again and again when entering second-hand shops here in New Zealand. Also once in a while the foyer of the premises of the Local Salvation Army is full of second-hand books. They are only one Dollar each.
I am always looking for Christian books. Doing that only yesterday in the foyer of the premises of the SA, I was again overwhelmed by the many books I saw. I love books and find many books I would like to take home, but I have already so many books in my library at home. Some of them I have not even read properly.
Eventually I bought only one book to take home namely the book called FATHER TEN BOOM GOD’S MAN written by Corrie ten Boom. (I am reading the book now.)
I say it again, I am amazed when I see all the books that have been written, and I love books and would take more of them home. But then the encouraging thought comes to my mind, that we only need one book, and that is “The Book of Books,” the Bible.
And from my own experience I know that the Bible, the Word of God, does not weary the body, but rather refreshes the body.
Another Second-hand Book
THIS BOOK IS ABOUT THE PYGMIES IN AFRICA, CONGO: My question is, “Have they heard the Gospel?”
