THIRSTY?

“Do you have a thirst for news?” begins an advertisement in the paper, I bought this morning.

That is one of the questions I like, and I am going to answer it.

THE NORTHLAND AGE, THURSDAY, JULY 18, 2019

Yes, I certainly have a thirst for news. But there is good news and there is bad news. I have a thirst for good news, But let us narrow it down even more. I have a thirst for the good news the Bible tells us about.

The Bible tells us about GOOD NEWS in Luke 1:19. There it says:

“The angel answered, ‘I am Gabriel, I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and tell you this good news.'”

And in Luke 2:10 and 11 we read:

“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.'”

And Luke 8:1 has more about good news:

“After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God.”

The ad “Do you have a thirst for news?” encourages people to subscribe to a newspaper. The offer expires on a certain date, and there is also a gift included and more.
