“Beat the winter blues,” I am told. That happened twice today while in town this morning.
Reading it twice and at two different places I thought people must be concerned about the winter blues, and I am taking notice.
The first time I see “BEAT THE WINTER BLUES” written on a car at a place where cars are being sold. And underneath it says, “WITH A PAJERO SPORT”. I am also informed in writng about the cost of thr vehicle
The second time I am coming across “BEAT THE WINTER BLUES …”, is at one of the local pharmacies. It continues with: “Talk to us about boosting your Immune System!” I like that invitation, because I am all for boosting my immune system, and not only in winter.
From long ago I remember also that some elderly people were wondering how many summers they still had to live. They did not wonder about the years, but only about the summers.
That reminds me of a rhyme in German which encourages us only to count the hours when the sun is shining like a sundial. (Mach es wie die Sonnenuhr, zael die heiteren Stunden nur.)
But let us remember and rejoice, also in winter, that every change of season is a reminder of the promise that God will never again destroy everything on earth until the judgement day when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to destroy evil forever. (Genesis 8:21,22)
