“NOTHING BEATS A GOOD BOOK, …”

“Nothing beats a good book, …”

That says the Hospice Shop advertisement in our local paper, The Northland Age. Hospice Shops are shops where second hand goods are turned into First Class Care.

The ad tells us further about “Holiday Boredom Busters”, not only for children but also for parents. Everybody is invited to check out the huge range of novels.

I wholeheartedly agree that “Nothing beats a good book,” especially when the book is all about The Book of Books, the Good Book, the BIBLE. The book I am reading just now is a book like that, namely a book by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. The book contains nine sermons on Galatians 6:14. (I think everybody should read the book, especially pastors!)

“TURNING LIVES AROUND”

“Lifewise” and “turning lives around” is written at the top of the front of the building.

Reading that reminds me of the time when the Lord Jesus Christ turned my life around in my teens.

And a lot more is written there, namely: “FAMILY SUPPORT, HOMECARE, PARENTING EDUCATION, EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, DISABILITY SUPPORT.”

Much could be said about the services. But I only want to encourage you to be thankful for them.

All the services mentioned are “turning lives around” for the present time, but the Lord Jesus Christ is “turning lives around” for ever, for time and ETERNITY.

But we must look to him and believe in him (John 6:40).

“So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, ‘Hurry and get out of this place, because the LORD is about to destroy the city!’ But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.” – Genesis 19:14
