“We’re running out of water ….,” is written on the posters I saw in town (Kaitaia) today, when going to the Saturday market.
I am a reader of the Bible and when I hear about water I am thinking straight away about the Living Water the Bible tells us about.
Also our local paper has lately headlines like this on the front page: “Northland Regional Council lays down water law,” and “Outside taps off in town.” For us who live here it means that we cannot water our vegetable gardens any longer. For example the silverbeet is wilting away without water.
We are told that we are running out of drinking water. But I can tell you that we will never run out of Living Water, the water the Bible tells us about. The supply of Living Water is not only inexhaustible, it is also unaffected by Time and Season.
The Bible says in Zechariah 14:8, “On that day living water will flow out of Jerusalem, half from the eastern sea and half to the western sea, in summer and in winter.” And in Revelation 7:17 we read, “For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water.”
