“GET IT OFF YOUR CHEST”
“Get something off one’s chest.” I am sure you know what that means!
You unburden yourself of troubles by talking about them. You unburden yourself of worries by talking about them. You unburden yourself of your sins by talking about them.
You know what your troubles are, you know what your worries are, you know what your sins are.
There are health troubles, financial troubles, people are out of work ……. and the list goes on and on.
Do you have somebody to talk to? Do you have a friend to talk to? A husband talks about his troubles and his worries to his wife. A wife talks about her troubles and worries to her husband.
Do you know the hymn “What a friend we have in Jesus,….?”
My friend is the Lord Jesus Christ and I talk to the Lord Jesus Christ about everything. I unburden myself of my sins by talking about them to the Lord Jesus Christ. (First John 1:9)
Lewis E. Jones asks in his hymn “Would you be free from your burden of sin?”
And he also gives the answer: “There is power in the blood, power in the blood;…”
