Watching the man pick up our rubbish sack and hurling it into the rubbish truck reminded me me actually of God’s will for my life.
Many books have been written about Finding the Lord’s will. But what does the Bible say?
Rubbish ready for collection
1. In First Peter 2:15 the Bible says, “For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.”
Doing good deeds is always God’s will.
2. “It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: …,” it says in First Thessalonians 4:3. And keep on reading the whole verse and the next verses.
This verse speaks about separation from sin unto holiness. God is holy. His will is that we be like Him.
3. What is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus?
Three more things are mentioned in First Thessalonians 5:16-18:
a. “Be joyful always.” Think about “always”.
b. “Pray continually.” Think about “continually”. Prayer is always God’s will for us, for you and for me.
c. “Give thanks in all circumstances.” Think about “all circumstances”. Thanksgiving is always God’s will for us, for you and for me.
It is God’s will for my life to be thankful for the rubbish collection every Wednesday, and I am thankful.
