WHAT A CHALLENGE

“How many days in my life have a failed already?” I am asking myself now seriously.

June 23, 2015

On this date, I picked up the book DAILY READINGS from the Works of Martyn Lloyd-Jones. The Reading on that day challenges me deeply.

I am reading there about four things God has given us:

GOD HAS GIVEN US THE GIFT OF LIFE. GOD HAS GIVEN US THE GIFT OF FOOD. GOD HAS GIVEN US THE GIFT OF EXISTENCE. GOD HAS GIVEN US THE MARVEL AND WONDER OF THE BODY.

Think thank God for the daily bread

Think thank God for the daily bread

“There should never be a day in our lives when we fail to thank God for …” those four things, writes Martyn Lloyd-Jones, and what a challenge that is for me.

But how do we learn to thank God?

I remember a “Think Safety” sticker on my motorbike some time ago and I wondered a bit why it was there, but the message is very obvious: “THINK SAFETY.”

THINK thank God for the gift of life. THINK thank God for the gift of food.  THINK thank God for the gift of existence.  THINK thank God for the marvel and wonder of the body.

THINK! THINK! THINK!

How many days in my life have I failed already to be thankful for those four things and just taken them for granted?

In future I want to THINK thank God for everything and especially for the four things mentioned.
