CONNECT

“There are hundreds of ways to connect – either with friends you know, or those you don’t know yet,” it says in a Mental Health Awareness Week article. The week runs in New Zealand from 8-14 October.

To nurture our HEALTH by applying the Five Ways to Wellbeing encourages us the Mental Health Foundation.

Connections

One of the ways is “connect”. When thinking about connecting not only my connections with my friends come to my mind, but also my connection with the Living God comes to my mind straight away.

Billy Graham says, “Prayer combined with Bible study makes for a HEALTHY Christian life.”

A. PRAYER

When to pray:

  1. Always (Luke 18:1).
  2. In the morning (Psalm 5:3).
  3. At noon and in the evening (Psalm 55:7).
  4. Daily (Psalm 86:3).
  5. Day and night (Psalm 88:1).

B. BIBLE STUDY

It is good to have a goal, when reading the Bible. Read the Bible from cover to cover each day a chapter or more, and try to read the Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation in one year. Read also Expositions of books of the Bible by renowned Bible teachers.

There is no need to tell you that my connection with the Lord Jesus Christ is more important to me than my connection with my friends. But it is a great joy to be connected with friends who are also connected with the Lord Jesus Christ.
