Our Conscience

Do I myself know what is good and what is bad?

All of us have a conscience. That means that we all know that there is good and evil.

But who is determining what is good and what is evil? Who is in charge of our conscience? When dealing with money, or telling the truth and not telling the truth, for example?

Is it the public opinion? Is it the opinion of the people we work with?

I ask once more, who is determining what is good and what is not good?

Martin Luther said that the Word of God was in charge of his conscience. (“Mein Gewissen is gefangen in Gottes Wort.”)

The Lord Jesus Christ must be in charge of our conscience.

I do not think that I myself know what is good and what is evil. Someone is in charge of our conscience.

The question is: Who is in charge of my conscience?
