“The law is changing!” I am reading that announcement on a big poster. The poster is standing inside the local Vodafone place here in Kaitaia. From the first of November this year it is forbidden to use mobile phones while driving a car. The fine is $80.00 and 20 demerit points.
“The law is changing!” We must take notice of that. At least I know now that the law of a country can change. Does that happen quite often?
But I know also that the law of the Lord does not change. It says in Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect,……..” The law of the Lord is “excellent in all respects.”
Do you remember the ten commandments? Do you know them off by heart? I had to learn them off by heart when I was young.
The ten commandments are recorded in Exodus chapter twenty and Deuteronomy chapter 5. To be exact Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21.
In Deuteronomy 5:17 it says: “You shall not murder.”
“You shall not commit adultery.” Deuteronomy 5:18
“You shall not steal.” Deuteronomy 5:19
In Psalm 119:142 it says that the law of the Lord is true and in the same Psalm in verse 164 we read: “Seven times a day I praise you for your righteous laws.” Psalm 119:164
