It looked like a piece of paper to me with “Merry Christmas” written on it at first glance and I saw it in our kitchen. When I picked it up for a closer inspection it turned out to be a Christmas card – from last year.  Somebody must have put it there.  On the front page was also a funny picture of  Santa Claus. On the back it told me that the card came from FIRST NATIONAL REAL ESTATE. And then I read also on the back “We put you first” and that took of course my full attention.

“We put you first.” I like that!

A well known verse from the Bible, the Word of the Living God came to my mind straight away.

Here it is:  Matthew 6:33

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

What are we putting first?

That are the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ!

What comes to your mind when you hear about his kingdom?

This is from the 20th Century Bible Dictionary:

“Seeking the kingdom must be the first goal of the Christian – that is, conforming to the will of God and recognizing His sovereignty over all of life. Once this is achieved, all of the already established marks of the kingdom, such as salvation, eternal life, etc., will become realities for each person. The kingdom may be thought of as a world – wide family of God’s children who, under the Lordship of  Christ, will attain everlasting bliss.”

The kingdom is still in the germination stage. Matthew 13:31

In Luke 9:27 the Lord speaks of the fulfilment and culmination of the kingdom as still being in the future.

Now I learned a lot about the kingdom.
