Posted my first tweet just now. Took me some time to reduce what I had to say to 140 characters. And I don’t think that I am a man of many words!
“I AM THE LORD.”
“Be holy because I , the Lord your God, am holy.”
“I am the Lord your God.”
“I am the Lord.”
When I came in my reading of the Bible to Leviticus chapter 19 I was surprised to find what is written above at least 17 times – I hope I have counted correctly -in those 37 verses of the chapter.
LAUGH!
“Laugh! It’s still the best medicine,” you can read in Reader’s Digest. I really laughed when I read the following in the January 2010 Age Concern Newsletter.
The Beginnings of Man
A little girl asked her mother, “How did the human race appear?” The mother answered, “God made Adam and Eve and they had children and so all mankind was made.” Two days later the girl asked her father the same question. The father answered, “Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved.”
The confused little girl returned to her mother and said, “Mum, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?’ The mother answered, “Well, dear it is very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his.”
I AM NOW A NEW TWITTER-ER!
I AM NOW A TWITTER-ER!
It says so in the E-mail I received from The Twitter Team with my account information.
What a surprise to read also in the E-mail that “The New York Times calls Twitter ‘one of the fastest-growing phenomena on the Internet’.”
Dive into Books – Dive into the Bible!
I was really interested in how the Summer Reading Programme of the Waitakere Libraries in Auckland was advertised. (New Lynn)
It said:
DIVE INTO BOOKS
Waitakere Libraries
Summer Reading Programme 2009-2010
I am all for diving into books. Yes, I am! I love books! But most of all I am for diving into the Bible, the Word of the Living God!
MY PULPIT IS THE WORLD (PE)
What a beautiful day it was !
I just came along and heard the strangers conversing in my mother tongue.
Eventually I had two listeners before me. This time outside. I was standing and they were sitting and really listening.
*************
And remember again the chapter in the Bible where the Lord Jesus Christ is talking with a Samaritan Woman in John 4:1-25.
Read also Matthew 10:32; First Corinthians 9:16.
TWITTER (What are you doing?)
“What are you doing?” is the Twitter Question. Answer the question with less than 140 characters and you have produced a Tweet. The Tweet is then shared with the user’s “followers”. I am actually wondering now how many words you can make with 140 characters.
You have heard about Twitter, a social messaging utility.
But I am reading here right now that the people are not really answering the question “What are you doing?” on Twitter. They are answering the question: ” What would you like to share today?”
I like both questions.
What are you doing? There is no need to do so, but I will make sure that the answer has no more than 140 characters.
I am sitting on a chair and typing! (I can easily see that that are not 140 characters!)
What would you like to share today? There is no need to do so, but I will make sure that the answer has no more than 140 characters.
The verse from the Bible in Acts 16:31: “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved – you and your household.” (How many characters are that?)
