“Making my way through the world one country at a time”
The following hymn came to my mind. Unfortunately it is in the German language and not so easy to translate. It is by Eleonore von Reuss. She lived from 1835-1903:
“Ich bin durch die Welt gegangen
und die Welt ist schoen und gross,
und doch ziehet mein Verlangen
mich weit von der Erde los.
That is just the first Verse.
“WE HAVE ALL ETERNITY TO CELEBRATE THE VICTORIES, BUT ONLY A FEW HOURS BEFORE SUNSET TO WIN THEM.”
Psalm 37:23
“If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm.”
In deutsch:
“Vom Herrn her werden die Schritte des Mannes gefestigt, und zwar wenn er Gefallen hat an seinem Wandel;..”
TRUE FASTING:
Isaiah 58:13-14
Intr.:
Is not this the kind of Fasting I have chosen: Isaiah 58:6
IF YOU….
1. If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and
2. from doing as you please on my holy day,
3. if you call the Sabbath a delight and
4. the Lord’s holy day honorable, and
5. if you honor it by not going your own way and
6. not doing as you please or
7. speaking idle words,
then
1. you will find your joy in the Lord, and
2. I will cause you to ride on the heights of the land and
3. to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.
End:
The mouth of the Lord has spoken.
“Who can doubt He will send the right people? Personally I would sooner have a few dare-devil care-for-nothing-and-nobody soldiers aflame with the love of Christ than a million workers just 10% below this standard.” – CT Studd (Founder of WEC)
“Although no-one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ENDING!”
