I SAW IT ON HIS FACE…..

Today – 24. 11. 08 – I spotted four Germans in town and when I got talking to one of them about spiritual things his face lit up (a big smile) and then I knew that he was a ‘real Christian’, born from above. What a joy to meet him!

Forgot to give him my name – card. Had it actually on me.

I talked to more people today, but I don’t want to record everything!

I READ ALSO QUITE A BIT ABOUT TALKING

People really think that listening is more important than speaking.

This is what I came across today in a smaller publication:

“PEOPLE WHO SPEAK MORE THAN THEY LISTEN SHOULD CONSIDER HOW PECULIAR THEY WOULD LOOK IF THEY HAD TWO MOUTHS AND ONE EAR.”

THE BIBLE:

James 1:19

James 1:26

First Peter 3:10

Psalm 34:13

Proverbs 13:3

Proverbs 21:23

THE WRITING ON THE DOOR:

First Corinthians 15:26

“THE LAST ENEMY TO BE DESTROYED IS DEATH.”

I talked to a German tourist today (He told me,” I have met you before here in NZ.”) and in the course of our conversation I mentioned the writing on the door: “CLOSED DUE TO BEREAVEMENT.”

We talked about a number of things – but it came to light that people have the idea that they have to EARN their SALVATION. I told him of course that Salvation is FREE. Not only the Catholics are thinking that Salvation can be earned, but the Protestants are also forgetting, that Martin Luther ‘discovered’ again the old biblical truth that justification is by FAITH alone.

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.” ( Ephesians 2:8,9)

The German tourist is a Protestant.

I REMEMBER………

I remember…………. from my time at Bible College:

Every morning before the classes started one of the third-year-students had to preach (devotion) before all the students and the teachers including the principal for half an hour.

I remember one of the teachers saying, “No matter who is standing in the pulpit, I believe that the Lord has something to say to me through that person.” (He had reasons for saying what he said!)

WHAT THE TEACHER SAID CAME TO MY MIND AGAIN TODAY!
