OKAIHAU
OKAIHAU is a township in the Far North District. Okaihau is 14 km northwest of Kaikohe, where we worked for almost 25 years as missionaries.
You can see the small Puriri Tree behind the plaque with a little bit of a fence.
I should learn more about native trees to give a proper answer when visitors ask: “What is this?” and “What is that?”
“News Worth Sharing”
“News Worth Sharing,” is a regular feature in the Reader’s Digest.
That nature is known to promote healing, I am reading in the first article called “Futuristic Hospital Uses Greenery for Healing.”
The Futuristic Hospital is the Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. It has not only plants and trees (more than 700), but also a roof-top garden, which provides fruit and vegetables for the patients.
On top of that the butterflies have greatly increased around the hospital.
Nature (greenery) not only promotes healing, but points to the creator of nature. And if nature already promotes healing, I believe that we find real healing by coming to the creator of nature, the Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why it says in Exodus 15:26, “‘…, I am the LORD who heals you.'”
And I believe that that is the news really worth sharing. (The gospel is the good news concerning Christ, the kingdom of God and salvation.)

MEMORISING VERSES FROM THE BIBLE
“Memorise anything,” is one of the three feats listed under the heading “Teach your brain new tricks,” in the Genius section. (Reader’s Digest, December 2019)
I am reading that we have a visual brain and a linguistic brain and that our visual brain has more storage. That means that we can recall the things better which are stored in our visual brain. That means converting the things we want to remember into images.
I am making an effort to memorise verses from the Bible and I am wondering if this method will help me to remember portions of Scriptures better. Time will tell.
The other two feats are “Navigate in the dark” and “See behind you.”
BOOKS THAT HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE
“Books can be dangerous. The best ones should be labelled ‘This could change your life,'” is a quote by author Helen Exley.
How true that is!
THE BIBLE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE:
The Bible is also called “The Book of Books.” The author of the Bible is God, the Holy Spirit.
BOOKS THAT HAVE CHANGED MY LIFE:
Books written by missionaries:
Isobel Kuhn: BY SEARCHING, NESTS ABOVE THE ABYSS, IN THE ARENA .
Books written by Bible expositors:
Believing what the Bible teaches has not only changed my present life, but also my future life, my eternity.
