ROADS
“On the road to nowhere,” is the heading of the article in THE NATIONAL FARMING REVIEW, April 2016.
Reading that I cannot help thinking …
I am thinking that I am on the road to somewhere, I am rejoicing that I am on the way to Heaven.
What about the inhabitants of heaven?
Matthew 6:9: God the Father lives there.
Acts 3:21: The Lord Jesus Christ went there after His ascension
Matthew 18:10: Angels are in heaven.
First Thessalonians 4:14: All those who have died trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ will be in heaven.
According to Revelation 20:10 the devil will never enter heaven. And Luke 12:33 tells us that thieves will not be in heaven.
The fact is that all of us are on the road to somewhere. Those of us who are not on the road to heaven are on the road to hell.
The BIBLE says so.
ADULTERY
“‘You shall not commit adultery.'” We find this commandment in Exodus 20:14.
In a devotional book I read that this is a tremendous battlefield, and it surely is.
Those who are familiar with the Bible know the story of David and the story of Joseph.
We find the story of DAVID in Second Samuel chapters 11-12:
HERE WE READ ABOUT HIS ADULTERY WITH BATHSHEBA AND THE MURDER OF URIAH.
The story of JOSEPH is recorded in Genesis chapter 39:
GENESIS CHAPTER 39 TELLS US THE STORY OF JOSEPH AND THE WIFE OF POTIPHAR. JOSEPH SERVED POTIPHAR, BUT HE WAS IMPRISONED BY FALSE ACCUSATION. IN GENESIS 39:9 JOSEPH SAYS, “‘HOW THEN COULD I DO SUCH A WICKED THING AND SIN AGAINST GOD,'”
David was defeated in the battle, but Joseph conquered.
Because this subject is such a battlefield in our lives, we are hearing a lot about it.
Now the Lord himself is entering this battlefield and his voice is loud and clear:
“‘ YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY.'” (Exodus 20:14)

Seasonal Wellbeing
This morning I attended an AGE CONCERN meeting at THE CORNERSTONE CHRISTIAN CENTRE (formerly Kaitaia Baptist Church).
“Be informed on how to plan and prepare to maintain physical health, mental well being and safety in your home,” it says on the invitation.
SARAH Clarke, medical officer from Kaitaia Hospital was the guest speaker. She came with a team.
We heard “how to maintain good health, well being and safety to get through the harsh changes of summer and winter months.”
Usually you hear at this place about spiritual health, but this morning we were taught about physical health.
