CURVE BALLS

Where are we looking for help, when it feels like the world is falling apart around us, when life throws us curve balls?

In a leaflet on parenting I picked up recently, I am reading it will help us to feel like we are not alone with our struggles, by putting our friends on speed dial.

The best friend of believers in the Lord Jesus Christ is the Lord Jesus Christ and they talk to Him, they pray to Him, especially in moments of crisis. And they know that they can come to Him at any time.

The Lord Jesus Christ says in John 15:14:

“You are my friends if you do what I command.”

They also like to sing the hymn, which begins like this, “What a friend we have in Jesus,” by Joseph M. Scriven

About the best friend of the followers of the Lord Jesus Christ it says in the Bible, in Colossians 1:17:

“He is before all things and in him all things hold together.”

When it feels like the world is falling apart around them, followers of the Lord Jesus Christ pray to their best friend, who is holding all things together.

WE ARE HAVING A PROBLEM

How can a holy God and a guilty sinner be brought together? That is the question. And the answer is the cross of Christ.

God says, “the wages of sin is death,” and “without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.” (Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:22)

I must die for my own sins. Life has been forfeited. In Leviticus 17 we are reading three times that “the life of every creature is its blood.” (17:11 and twice in 117:14)

God demands blood. In other words he demands life.

No other man can be my substitute, because all have sinned. Each man has to die for his own sins

But the Lord Jesus Christ could be my substitute, because he was without sin.

Is he your substitute?

You have nothing to do but to believe the message of the cross, and the Lord Jesus Christ will be your substitute.

“Be a Well Being”

“You only have one body, look after it every day.”

I surely like that, but let us never forget that we do not only have one body, but that we also have only one soul and only one spirit.

How do I know? Because the Bible says so. Two verses clearly teach that man has three parts, namely 1 Thessalonians 5:23 and Hebrews 4:2. Man is a tripartite being. In 1 Thessalonians 5:23 we read:

“May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

So, in order to be really a Well Being, we must look after our spirit, our soul and our body every day.

The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross to redeem the soul of man.

Power for Personal Evangelism

You will be my witnesses in KAITAIA. (Please read Acts 1:8)

SOMETIMES we start a conversation with others, in restaurants for example.

I did that not long ago with two young men from Germany and both accepted my business card.

SOMETIMES others start a conversation with us.

That happened also not long ago with a man I met for the first time, and it was not long and there was a golden opportunity to turn our conversation to spiritual things.

But whatever the situation may be, we must be led by the Holy Spirit, as it says in Acts 1:8:

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses …”
