Began reading the book EVIDENCE THAT DEMANDS A VERDICT by Josh McDowell in GERMAN.

Another book I have had on my book shelf for a long time. Friends in Germany must have sent to me. The book has almost 5oo pages.

“Real Food” and “more real life”.

werner-150x150-e1367980712224“Real” is the word it seems to me that is sticking out in the Table of Contents.

Are we longing for things that are real? Are we longing for things that are true? I think we are!

I am looking at the Table of Contents in one of the magazines you can find on coffee tables in homes and other places. It says there that you can read about “real food” and “more real life”.

I like to read everything I can find about “real food” and “real life”.

And this is what I find written about about “real food”:

“For my flesh is  real food and my blood is real drink.”

And this about “real life,” true life:

This is written to those who are rich.

“In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of that is truly life.”

“Eating this flesh and and drinking this blood means believing in Christ.” (Matthew Henry and Thomas Scott Concise Commentary on the Whole Bible.)

And in John 3:36 we read, “Whoever believes in the Son, has eternal life, …”

If you are longing for things that are real, that are true, read THE BOOK OF BOOKS, the BIBLE!

Many years ago we had a group of Christian Musicians called “GET REAL”. (United Maori Mission in Kaikohe.)

“All Covered Up.”

“All covered up,” it says on the pamphlet, I saw hanging inside our local Post Office.

Reading about Adam and Eve in the BIBLE ( I read the BIBLE from cover to cover and start with Genesis 1:1 each new year.), reminded me of the pamphlet at the Post Office. It says there about the woman and her husband:

“Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves.”

Inside the above mentioned pamphlet I read, “Cover for you and your stuff.” It is all about Life & Living Insurance and Home loan insurance.

COVER FOR ME AND MY STUFF

1.  The Lord has covered the Heavens with his glory. Habakkuk 3:3

WORK

2.  The Lord has covered the meadows with his flocks and “the valleys are mantled with grain.” Psalm 65:13

God’s provision or his GOODNESS.

3.  The Lord has covered you with the shadow of his hand. Isaiah 51:16

The covered servant or his PROTECTION.

4.  And most of all, the Lord has covered our nakedness. The Lord has covered us with costly garments. Ezekiel 16:8,10

The covered sinner or God’s GRACE. Psalm 32:1; Psalm 85:2; Romans 4:7.

The coverings Adam and Eve made for themselves did not work.

We must accept the coverings the Lord Jesus Christ has for us!
