“BOOKS LEAD TO BETTER THINGS”

“Books lead to better things”

“Books lead to better things” is the article in The Northland Age (Thursday, June 30, 2011) on the front page called and in the first paragraph it says that “six Year 7 pupils at Kaitaia Intermediate School now know that books can open all sorts of doors.”

I can only agree with that and I am thinking here especially about the Book of Books, the Bible, the Word of the Living God.

What sort of door opened for the 11-year-old boys?

In class they read a book about boys who built a raft. That inspired them to build their own raft with the help of their teacher aide.

The Book of Books, the Bible, leads to the best things and opens the door to heaven. The Lord Jesus Christ says in John 10:9 “I am the door;  if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and will find pasture.”

Sermon Outline NT (NIV)

“For

Second Corinthians 11:4

Intr.:

if someone comes to you and

1.  preaches a Jesus other than  the Jesus we preached,

2.  or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received,

3.  or a different gospel from the one you accepted,

End:

you put up with it easily enough.”

I found this Sermon Outline in the newspaper

“For I resolved to

know nothing while

I was with you

except Jesus Christ and him

crucified.”

This Sermon Outline is in the newspaper today, The Northland Age, Tuesday, June 28, on the last page under GOD’S WORD: OPEN FOR ALL. (Don’t know which translation!)

“Go in

Matthew 7:13,14

Intr.:

through the narrow gate.

A. The gate to destruction is

1. wide, and

2. the road that leads there is easy to follow.

3. A lot of people go through that gate.

B. But the gate to life is

1. very narrow.

2. The road that leads there is so hard to follow

3. that only a few people find it.”

End:

In which Direction are YOU going?

In which direction are YOU going?

“Greatness is not in where we stand, but in what direction we are moving. We must sail sometimes with the wind, and sometimes against it –  but sail we must. And not drift, nor lie at anchor.” – Oliver Wendell Holmes
