Sermon Outline – OT – NIV

“This is what the LORD,

Judges 6:7-10

Introduction:

the God of Israel, says:

  1. I brought you up out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery
  2. I snatched you from the power of Egypt and from the hand of all your oppressors.
  3. I drove them from before you and gave them your land.
  4. I said to you, ‘I am the LORD your God; do not worship the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you live.’

End:

But you have not listened to me.”

Embroidery

EMBROIDERY: Right side up.

“Picture a piece of embroidery placed between you and God, with the right side up toward God. Man sees the loose, frayed ends; but God sees the pattern.” – Corrie ten Boom

EMBROIDERY: Wrong side up.

Encouragement

“‘Brothers, if you have a message of encouragement for the people, please speak,'” said the synagogue rulers to Paul and Barnabas. We read that in “The Book of Books.”

And John Bunyan says, “If you want encouragement, entertain the promises.”

Here are four promises I have memorized:

First Corinthians 3:11:

“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Second Corinthians 3:17:

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom.”

Colossians 1:17:

“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

James 4:2:

“You do not have, because you do not ask God.”

I am sure the Apostle Paul had a message of encouragement for his listeners, because he was invited to speak again the next Sabbath, we read in the Bible. (Acts 13:42)

And I hope that you are also encouraged when reading the four promises mentioned in this post. I hope also that you keep on reading more posts on this blog.
