Of course, I have read the public notices in the local paper about the coming power outage, Sunday 1 February 2015, 8AM – 6PM, but not thoroughly.

Power

Today is Sunday, February 15, 2015, and before 8AM it was pointed out to me that in case of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, the power outage would be postponed until next Sunday.

At the present time I am reading the book THE  FINAL PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS (Romans, exposition of Chapter 8:17-39) by D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

Today I am reading there on page 175:

“But one of God’s ways of using every kind of circumstance and condition for our good is that suddenly, by His Spirit, He illuminates our understanding as to what is happening to us; and the moment you begin to understand, all is well.”

There are no unforeseen circumstances for God and his children.

And in case you are interested, the power cut was TODAY!

The Open BIBLE

Have you ever had the joy of finding written down by someone else what you have been thinking and saying for a long time and what you have also written about?

I had the joy recently:

“The natural man does not believe that this Word is true; to him the Bible is just like any other book. But when a man is really called by God he knows that the Bible is not mere word of man.”

That is what D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones says in his book THE FINAL PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS, exposition of ROMANS Chapter 8:17-39.

At the Beach

Today, when experiencing some kindness of a stranger, I forgot my social conduct completely and I am still thinking about it.

I was told to buy a carrot from the market and when I arrived there I saw beautiful carrots packed in small bags. I don’t know how many carrots were in one bag. Asking whether it was possible to buy just one or two carrots, I was told that there was no problem.

But when I was told that I could have two big carrots without paying anything for them, I was completely blown away and I think I walked away saying, “You really don’t want any payment for them?” instead of remembering my manners.

When I see the owner of the stall again, I must say, “Thank you very, very much indeed for the two big carrots!”

Noticing a big handwritten note stuck to the front window of the coffee shop I was sitting in made me leave my seat and go and read it.

It was a response to the power outage coming Sunday from 8AM – 6PM. It was also good to be reminded again of the outage.

A one page public notice in our local paper tells us about the power outage:

POWER OUTAGE

Kaitaia and surrounding Districts

Sunday 1 February 2015

8AM – 6PM

There are actually two outages and we are also told how to prepare for them.

Power

The handwritten note stuck to the window of the coffee shop – and this is now from memory – is a notice from the food manager to the dear customers and says that the shop is open as usual for business on 1 February 2015 and that the power source will be a generator.

Are you also encouraged as I am, when you read the notice stuck to the window?

I am also reminded that God possesses all power.
