THE FLAGS ARE ON HALF-MAST!

THE FLAGS ARE ON HALF-MAST

Today I saw the two flags at McDonald’s again on half-mast. The first time, I think it was only yesterday, I did not take much notice. But today I did and was told that it was because of the state funeral for former Archbishop of  New Zealand and Governor-General Sir Paul Reeves.

No flag will fly on half-mast for sure anywhere when I die, but  I am a disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ and I read in the Bible in John 14:1-3 what the Lord is saying to his disciples:

“…, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”

“Ask your stylist how you can outshine everyone……….”

When I read today “Ask your stylist how can outshine everyone…….” at the local HAIR  STUDIO I remembered, “…., so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe…..”

That is a verse from the Bible and you find that verse in Paul’s letter to the Philippians. (Philippians 2:15)

TOP STORY!

TOP STORY!

Do you have a Top Story? I would really like to know.

When I turn on my emachines laptop, I am automatically connected to: homepage.emachines.com.

On the right side of the screen I read: Top Stories. I can click on New Zealand and read the New Zealand Top Stories or I can click on World and read the Top Stories of the World.

But I want to tell you about my Top Story:

In my library are a number of books written by Johannes Busch and Wilhelm Busch. They were true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, preached the Good News and wrote books.

Wilhelm Busch used to preach in Essen / Germany many years ago. I used to live in Bottrop at that time and listened with great joy to his sermons. Bottrop is not far from Essen.

Johannes Busch writes in one of  his books:

“Das ist die Mitte der Weltgeschichte, dass unser Gott diese Welt nicht losgelassen hat, sondern ihr nachgelaufen ist.”

For those who don’t know German:

“That is the Centre of World History that God did not let go of the world, but that he ran after the world.”

His brother Wilhelm Busch writes in one of his books:

“Die groesste Tat der Weltgeschichte ist der Kreuztod des Sohnes Gottes.”

In English:

“The greatest deed (event) in the World History is the death on the cross of the Son of God.”

THE CENTRE OF WORLD HISTORY IS THE DEATH ON THE CROSS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.

And that is also my Top Story.

Make it also your Top Story!

World Traveller

WORLD TRAVELLER

I remember the saying “Join WEC INTERNATIONAL and you see the World”. WEC International is a Missionary Society.

I  joined WEC International when I was young and I think that is true. It was my privilege to travel in Europe, in Asia and now I am living here in the beautiful country New Zealand.

My first trip to Thailand, where I worked for thirteen years as a missionary, was by boat from Marseille in France to Bangkok in  Thailand through the Suez Canal. That was quite an experience. I was twentysix years old at that time.

People who travel the world not only see a lot, but also hear a lot. I know that from my own travels. I should have started to write tweets earlier in my life and also posts for my blog.

But “THE BOOK OF BOOKS” teaches:

“The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of  hearing.” (Ecclesiastes 1:8)

“The eye never has enough of  SEEING,…”  until it sees the wonderful things in the Bible. Psalm 119:18 “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.”

The ear never has its fill of HEARING……..until it hears the message through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17 “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.”
