“He waits for me in Heaven”
“HE WAITS FOR ME IN HEAVEN”
That was the headline in the newspaper last Saturday. (Saturday, May 7, 2011 Weekend Herald)
If you have read other posts on this blog you are not surprised, that I am very much interested in heaven. The reason is that I am heading for heaven. What are you heading for? Have you heard about D. L. Moody? I have. I have also read that his favourite sermon subject was “HEAVEN.”
The words “He waits for me in heaven” were spoken by a Manila-born catholic lady after her husband, who was also Manila-born, was killed by the 200km/h tornado that ripped through Albany at 3.15 pm in the north of Auckland here in New Zealand.
The lady “is sure she will see her husband again.” That means that she is sure that her husband is in heaven and that she is also sure that she is also going to heaven. That means that she is sure that she is heading for heaven.
I don’t know who gives her the unshakable assurance of salvation.
But I do know who gives me the unshakable assurance of salvation. I know that I am heading for HEAVEN!
Let me tell you about it:
When the new birth happened in my life, when I came out of darkness into light, when I came from death into life, the Bible became alive for me. Before that the Bible was like any other book. But now I understood what I was reading.
I read these words in the Bible: “I write these things to you who believe in the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” You find those words in First John 5:13 in the New Testament.
I believe in the Son of God and I know that I have eternal life! Hallelujah!
What about you?
In his letter to the Romans the apostle Paul is writing: “The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.” You find those words also in the New Testment in Romans 8:16!
Have you experienced that?

Question:
We are both true followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. Do I recognize you and do you recognize me in HEAVEN?
What does the Bible, the Word of the Living God say?
Gentleness
When I read today the quote “There is nothing as strong as gentleness and nothing so gentle as real strength” by Ralph W. Sockman the verse Philippians 4:5 came to my mind where it says:
“Let your gentleness be evident to all.”
Endurance
“……; for he endured as seeing him who is invisible.” – Hebrews 11:27
The Bible says that about Moses. Moses did not focus on what he had to endure, but he looked through the window of faith to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today I read the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt: “He who loses money, loses much; he who loses a friend, loses much more; he who loses faith, loses all.”
I don’t know what you have to endure at the present time. Many are sick, many don’t know how to pay their bills, many are out of work.
Follow the example of Moses and look through the window of faith.
What do you see?
You see the Lord Jesus Christ.
He is not only the pioneer, but also the perfecter of our faith. Why did he endure the cross? Why did he despise the shame? Because joy was set before him and he is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
He endured the hostility against himself from sinners. Why did he do that? He did that that we may not grow weary or fainthearted.
CHILDREN!
“Successfully preparing your babies & toddlers for the big wide world.”
That’s what I read when looking at the advertisement of the ABC LEARNING CENTRES at the bottom of the frontpage of the paper. (Saturday, May 7, 2o11 Weekend Herald)
The centres are working together with the parents, they are having quality environments and friendly, qualified teachers.
I am interested in preparing children for the big wide world. How can we do that successfully?
Please let me know!
War Cry Giveaway
We have one copy of Dancing with Max to give away. To be in to win, tell us how God is helping you as a parent.
I wrote:
God is helping me as a parent if I follow all of his commands. If I am obedient to God it helps the children to follow the command in Exodus 20:12 “Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you.”
“Teach…”
“Teach your children why you believe what you believe. Don’t ask them to accept your beliefs blindly. Don’t be afraid to teach them to think for themselves. God’s Word can withstand the test.” – Dr. Paul Meier
“Get it off your Chest”
“GET IT OFF YOUR CHEST”
“Get something off one’s chest.” I am sure you know what that means!
You unburden yourself of troubles by talking about them. You unburden yourself of worries by talking about them. You unburden yourself of your sins by talking about them.
You know what your troubles are, you know what your worries are, you know what your sins are.
There are health troubles, financial troubles, people are out of work ……. and the list goes on and on.
Do you have somebody to talk to? Do you have a friend to talk to? A husband talks about his troubles and his worries to his wife. A wife talks about her troubles and worries to her husband.
Do you know the hymn “What a friend we have in Jesus,….?”
My friend is the Lord Jesus Christ and I talk to the Lord Jesus Christ about everything. I unburden myself of my sins by talking about them to the Lord Jesus Christ. (First John 1:9)
Lewis E. Jones asks in his hymn “Would you be free from your burden of sin?”
And he also gives the answer: “There is power in the blood, power in the blood;…”
