Not long ago I was led to talk to somebody.

Not at the place where I thought it would be, but where the Lord wanted it to be.

And not what I wanted to say, but what the Lord wanted me to say.

If  I would have said what was on my mind, the conversation would not have ended with a thank you from my friend.

BIBLE COLLEGE BRAKE

Not long ago I received an invitation to attend the SPRING Conference of the Bible College in Brake. The conference dates: 29. April – 1. Mai 2011.

The Bible College Brake has been in existence for 62 years without losing the vision:

Mission, telling others about JESUS!

That’s the general theme of the Autumn Conference, telling others about JESUS!

And here are the other themes:

JESUS, the true vine, John 15:1;

JESUS, the light of the world, John 8:12;

JESUS, the good shepherd, John 10:11;

JESUS, the resurrection and the life, John 11:25 ;

JESUS, the way and the truth and the life, John 14:6.

I am a graduate of BIBLE COLLEGE BRAKE!

POWERLESS SUNDAYS?

POWERLESS SUNDAYS?

The headline “ANOTHER POWERLESS SUNDAY” in the local paper, The Northland Age,Tuesday, April,19,2011 took my attention, as you can well imagine.

The first paragraph of the article begins like this:

“The very Far North is about to have another Sunday without electricity (May 1, weather permitting, with May 15 the reserve day) to allow for maintenance…..”

Here is now my question:

DO YOU THINK YOU HAVE A POWERLESS SUNDAY IF YOU DON’T GO TO CHURCH ON SUNDAY?

Please let me know!

And please remember Hebrews 10:25:

“Let us not give up meeting together, as…..”

“ONE HEART MANY LIVES”

The “One Heart Many Lives” programme started in 2007.

The programme is highlighting the dilemma we all face in regards to ‘heart related diseases’.

In the paper I am reading that especially Maori men face this dilemma. “GET YOUR HEART HEALTH CHECK TODAY” is therefore the message.

High blood pressure is called the “Silent Killer” and does damage without much warning to the heart. But not only to the heart, but also to other parts of the body, namely arteries, the brain, eyes and kidneys.

It has been discovered that the history, culture and the medical issues of Maori men and Scottish men are similar.

And now I am also reading here in the paper about one man who went therefore to Glasgow in Scotland  to present the One Heart Many Lives programme at a conference.

If people are taking programmes like that to other countries at the other end of the world how much more must we who know the Gospel endeavor to take the Gospel to people who have not heard yet about the Lord Jesus Christ!!

I was really impressed  when  I read about a New Zealand Missionary in Indonesia.

On a regular basis she is visiting lepers, the poor, the homeless, the orphans and the handicapped. She leads short term mission trips to South East Asia. In Jakarta she has established a Bible College. She has also been involved in relief efforts following the eruption of the Mt Merapi volcano in Indonesia.
