The Spiritual Drought
We are having the worst drought in 60 years here in the north of New Zealand! We are reading and hearing a lot about that drought at the present time.
But we are not hearing very much about the Spiritual Drought. Are you concerned about the Spiritual Drought?
Do you know that beautiful song “There shall be showers of blessing” by Major Daniel W. Whittle and James McGranahan? James McGranahan lived from 1840-1907
This is the Chorus:
Showers of blessing, showers of blessing we need;
mercy drops ’round us are falling, but for the showers we plead.”
LET US PLEAD FOR THE SHOWERS!
Definition of business!
I must share with you another maxim I found on twitter that really made me laugh. Here it is:
“Business is the act of extracting money from another man’s pocket without resorting to violence.”
Max Amsterdam

“DEMOLISH THE BRIDGES!!”
Every Monday I am looking forward to picking up the weekly ‘Coffee News’ in one of the shops here in the beautiful town of Kaitaia. Today is Monday, the 22nd March 2010 and today I am reading in the ‘Coffee News’ under the heading ‘Quotable Quotes’:
“Demolish the bridges behind you….. then there is no choice but to move forward.”
Firdtjof Nansen
What comes to your mind , when reading that quote?
Gladly, I will tell you what comes to my mind. A christian hymn comes to my mind. The hymn has four verses. Here is the first verse:
“I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jesus,
I have decided to follow Jeus;
No turning back, no turning back.”
Demolish the bridges!
“What church needs today…”
“What church needs today is not more novel methods, but people whom the Holy Spirit can use – prayer people.” –
E. M. Bounds

I found these quotes on twitter:
“The greatest gift that you can give to others is the gift of unconditional love and acceptance.”
“KINDNESS is a language which the dumb can speak, the deaf can understand.”
