“CHRISTMAS BEGINS AT NEW WORLD” (Supermarket)
Where does Christmas begin or start?
Christmas begins or starts at New World. For those who don’t know, NEW WORLD is a supermarket.
This is now from memory.
But so far as I can remember, I saw that written on one of the New World plastic bags many, many years, when we were working with the United Maori Mission in Kaikohe. (From 1981 until 2004)

Ein 14-jaeriges Maedchen aus Indien bekam die Aufgabe, zum Thema Gewaltlosigkeit eine Zeichnung zu machen. Es zeichnete das Jesuskind auf dem Stroh und kommentierte dazu:
“GOTT HAT DIE WELT MIT EINEM BABY ERSCHUETTERT, NICHT MIT EINER BOMBE.”
“I LOVE MY WIFE”
I was still quite a distance away from the parked car, but I recognized the big letters and the big heart on the sticker of the front bumper: “I LOVE MY WIFE.” I love my wife also! Now I was really curious, and when I came nearer I went to look at the sticker properly and in smaller script it said, “PROMISEKEEPRS.” You have heard about the Promisekeepers.
What an encouragement – and that on our street, which is not very long indeed.
The Bible, the Word of the Living God, demands that we love our wives.
Ephesians 5:25,26,27
“Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church
1. and gave himself up for her
2. to make her holy,
3. cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,
4. and to present her to himself as a radiant church,
a. without stain
b. or wrinke
c. or any other blemish,

WHO IS EMPOWERING US TO TAKE MORE OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL OF OUR LIVES?
From a counselling report:
“IT’S ALWAYS EXCITING TO OBSERVE CHANGES TAKING PLACE AND PEOPLE BECOMING EMPOWERED TO TAKE MORE OWNERSHIP AND CONTROL OF THEIR LIVES.”
What does the BIBLE say?
First Corinthians 6:19,20
“You are not your own; you were bought at a price.”
Study the selfexistence of God.
Only God is selfexistent.
We are dependent beings!

When I read flowery Mission statements and flowery Vision statements, in reports for example, I always remember what Emeritus Professor Ivan Snook said.
“PAPIER IST GEDULDIG” (PAPER IS PATIENT!) I heard that in Germany quite a bit.
