“Before me every knee will bow; …” – Isaiah 45:23

When a lady in our church service prayed that the day will come on which everyone will kneel down before the Lord Jesus Christ, something stirred within me.

“I must remember that,  when I talk to people again about what the Lord has done for me,” (Personal Evangelism, short P.E.) I told myself.

P1060838-768x1024“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above  every name,

Philippians 2:9-11

Intr.:

that at the name of Jesus

1.  every knee should bow,

a.  in heaven and

b.  on earth and

c.  under the earth, and

2.  every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,

End:

to the glory of God the Father.”

Please read also Isaiah 45:23 and Romans 14:11.

In Ephesians 3:14 the apostle Paul says that he is kneeling down before the Father and in Psalm 95:6 the Psamist says to us: “COME, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel down before the LORD our Maker; … ” Why should we do that? The Psalmist gives the answer, “For he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.”

Most of the people we talk to do not bow down before the Lord and do not confess to God, but I know now afresh that the day will come that they will bow before God and will confess to God and I will tell them. Read Romans 14:11

I am thankful to the Lord that I am bowing down before him already!

wernerweb 150x150To win a copy of A Field for Exploits,

tell us how you plan to grow spiritually this year.

For a long time I have kown the song for children “Read your Bible and pray every day …”

Looking for it, I found it eventually on the internet. Here is the first verse:

“Read your Bible and pray every day,

Pray every day, Pray every day.

Read your bible and pray every day

and you’ll grow, grow, grow!

1.  Read your Bible every day

2.  Pray every day

3. Read devotional books .The following I read:

UNTO THE HILLS by Billy Graham

MORNING AN EVENING, Daily Reading by C. H. Spurgeon

RENEWED DAY BY DAY, A Daily Devotional by A. W. Tozer

And I have also devotional books in German.

4. Read other good books.

By other books I am thinking about books like COMPETENT TO COUNCEL by Jay E. Adams

5. Church

Find a church that is vibrant, a church that is alive.

I have followed that course of action in the past and I think it will also work in the year 2013!

“The Germans are Organised”

In her editor’s letter in the English Women’s Weekly (24th July 2012) the editor is writing about the unique national characteristic of the Americans, the Germans, the Italians, the Australians and of course the British.P12002273-1024x768

In brackets she says: “clearly these are my entirely unscientific suggestions.” She says that the Americans are  hospitable, the Germans are organised, the Italians are effusive and the Australians are chilled.

Long ago I used to live in Bottrop near Essen in the middle of Europe and while I was sitting one day on a bench  in the cemetery of Bottrop I ‘received’ help to get organised.

A general outline came to me and has stayed with me until now and will stay with me until I die. All you have to do is buy a ringbinder and paper and write the outline down. Or do it on your laptop. Here is an example of a general outline I used at one stage in my life. We worked as missionaries at that time in Kaikohe (New Zealand).

A.  HEALTH

1. self

a. b. c.

2. wife

a. b. c.

3.  first child

4.  second child

I am thinking here not only about the physical health of the family, but also about the spiritual health.

B.  SUPPORT

Prayer and financial support from Germany and  New Zealand.

1.  Supporters in Germany. Keep up contact.

a. With regular newsletters.

b. With articles in the magazine of the MISSION.

2.  Supporters in New Zealand.

1. 2.

C.  KAIKOHE (UNITED MAORI MISSION)

1. Church

2. Sunday School

3. Bible in Schools

a. Schools:

b. Training Days

4. Cottage Meetings

a.

b.

D.  FURLOUGH

Germany Deputation)

E. PAYING OF TAX

While working in Thailand as a missionary, I cannot remember paying tax, but while working in New Zealand as a missionary I remember paying tax several times a year.

That are very important dates.

F.  MEETING THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

In his book UNTO THE HILLS Billy Graham is writing about “The dying words of Christians.” (January 23)

John Knox said this, “Live in Christ, die in Christ, and the flesh need not to fear death.” Martin Luther said, “Our God is the God from whom cometh salvation. God is the Lord by whom we escape death.” And these are the words of John Wesley, “The best of all is, God is with us.”

This is of course only a very rough outline. Make your own, add at any time  and delete at any time.

Yes, this is a selfmade diary. I call it my LOGBOOK .

What I like so much about a ringbinder is that you can tear pages out and add pages and keep everything nice and tidy.

I believe the Lord Jesus Christ taught me and told me to make my LOGBOOK,  while sitting on that bench in the grave yard and yes, I am a German. And although it says about the Germans that they are organised, all their being organised does not help them if they don’t look into their LOGBOOK regularly and do what it says in there.

I remember once having a part of my LOGBOOK so to speak right in front of me – a list of things to take on a camping trip with the kids to Matauri Bay – and I still forgot to take some things that were on the list. We discovered that when arriving at Matauri Bay. I had to leave the kids at the beach and go back to get the essential things.

The GUIDEBOOK!

“You wouldn’t go on holidays to the backstreets of a foreign city without a guidebook, …”

When I read that in the February 2007 Reader’s Digest on page eleven all those people came to my mind who are and who go on life’s journey to eternity without a guidebook.

There is a guidebook and in the guidebook we are reading:

Read the BIBLE!

“THE BOOK OF BOOKS”

“‘I am the Lord your God, …'”  “‘You shall have no other God’s before me.'”

“‘You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.'”

“‘You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, …'”

“‘Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy.'”

“‘Honor your father an your mother, …'”

“‘You shall not murder.'”

“‘ You shall not commit adultery.'”

“‘ You shall not steal.'”

“‘ You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor.”‘ “‘You shall not covet your neighbors house. You shall not covet your neighbors wife, …'”

(You find the ten commandments in Exodus 20:1-17)

Don’t only read the ten commandments, but memorize them.

The guidebook is the Bible and the the Bible is also the guidebook to eternal life.

“MONEY WORRIES?”

“MONEY WORRIES?”

“Combine your loans and lose the worry.”25.01.2013 028

I am reading here a question and I will answer it. No, I don’t have any money worries!

Romans 13:8 says,

“Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law.”
