Are we also Compromising?

At the end of Second Kings 17 we are reading  three times about worshiping the Lord.

— Second Kings 17:32 says: “They worshiped the Lord, but they also appointed all sorts of their own people to officiate for them as priests….”

— Second Kings 17:33 says: “They worshiped the Lord, but they also served their own gods in accordance…”

— Second Kings 17:41 says: “Even while these people were worshiping the Lord, they were serving their idols.”

And the whole chapter has this really sad ending: “To this day their children and grandchildren continue  to do as their fathers did.”

One Blog has the following Headline:

“Making my way through the world one country at a time”

The following hymn came to my mind. Unfortunately it is in the German language and not so easy to translate. It is by Eleonore von Reuss. She lived from 1835-1903:

“Ich bin durch die Welt gegangen

und die Welt ist schoen und gross,

und doch ziehet mein Verlangen

mich weit von der Erde los.

That is just the first Verse.

Have you heard about CT Studd?

“Who can doubt He will send the right people? Personally I would sooner have a few dare-devil care-for-nothing-and-nobody soldiers aflame with the love of Christ than a million workers just 10% below this standard.” – CT Studd (Founder of WEC)
