“THE BEACH IS WHERE MY HEART BELONGS”

“The beach is where my heart belongs.”

That is the message on the shirt. I saw shirts with that mssage just now at The Warehouse. You find the shirts where the girlswear 8-16 is.

My message is:

MY HEART BELONGS TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!

That has not always been the case. My life has two parts, ‘ONCE’ and ‘NOW’.

ONCE I WAS DARKNESS.

The Lord has called me out of darkness.

Once I did not belong to the people of God. Once I had not received mercy.

NOW I AM LIGHT IN THE LORD.

The Lord has called me out of darkness into his wonderful light.

Now I belong to the people of God. Now I have received mercy. Now I belong to the chosen people. Now I belong to the royal priesthood. Now I belong to the holy nation.  I belong to God. PRAISE THE LORD!

What is your message?

“Core Messages”

wernerweb 150x150A regional Surf Life Saving New Zealand manager said,

“We need to keep going back to one of our core messages – always swim between the flags.”

When I read that in the paper (The New Zealand Herald, Wednesday, December 26, 2012) I asked myself, “What are our biblical core messages?”

WHAT IS THE CARDINAL THEME OF THE BIBLE?

The cardinal theme of the Bible is the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the most important topic. He is our core message!

I think that we need to keep going back to our core message, the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ is not only our core message, he is also the key to understanding the BIBLE.

And remember, we can only say by revelation that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. It has to be revealed to us by the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ.

You can read that in the Bible, in Matthew 16:13-20.

I found what I was looking for:

I found what I was looking for (The New Zealand Herald, Wednesday, December 26, 2012):

Eftpos sales

2012: 132 transaction per second on Christmas Eve

2009: 131 transactions per second

2010: 129 transactions per second

2011: 130 transactions per second

“Can you ever have too many books?”

“CAN YOU EVER HAVE TOO MANY BOOKS?”

I am reading that question while looking through the shop window of a book shop here in Kaitaia / NZ on this rainy and windy Christmas Day. The question is written on a cardboard box.

Kaitaia looks dead today, there are only a few shops open for business.P1190649 225x300

What is your answer to the above question?

My answer is not, “Yes, I can have too many books” or “No, I cannot have too many books.”

But my answer is, “There is one book you must have and that book is the Bible, the word of the Living God.

Why do I say that?

This is the main reason:

THE BIBLE IS NOT WRITTEN BY A HUMAN BEING, THE BIBLE IS WRITTEN BY GOD THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Please read Second Timothy 3:16 and Second Peter 1:21.

There are other reasons as well.

The  Bible is also known by the title  THE WORD OF GOD.

1.  We have said already, that the word of God is SUPERNATURAL in its origin – Second Timothy 3:16-17.

2.  The word of God is ACCURATE in its prophecies – First Peter 1:10-12.

3.  The word of God is INERRANT in its contents – Psalm 119:11.

4.  The word of God is RELIABLE in its promises – Second Corinthians 1:20.

5.  The word of God is FAITH-BEGETTING  in its ministry – Romans 10:17.

6.  The word of God is SAVEGUARDING in its warnings – Psalm 19:11.

7.  The word of God is AUTHORITATIVE in its utterance – Psalm 119:11.

DO YOU HAVE A BIBLE ON YOUR BOOK SHELF?

What I really love …

wernerweb 150x150I love wall to wall carpets, that have a colour, where you can see dirty marks easily. ( We have a carpet like that! )

Our dining room area is carpeted …

… with a carpet like that!

Dirty wheels of baby walkers and walkers to support older people make also great stains on light coloured carpets.

And I also don’t want to forget to mention leaking water heaters near fixed carpets. They soak the carpets really good, as you can well imagine.

We experienced that only a couple of days ago. We still don’t have hot water. I am going to a place for backpackers to have a shower.

I am seriously asking myself, “Why do we have carpets at all?

Coincidence?

I have just now finished reading Luke chapter two in the Bible.

At the beginning of  this year I started reading the Bible from cover to cover and finished some time ago. Then I started at the beginning of the New Testament to fill in the time  until the end of this year.

This morning I arrived at Luke chapter two, where the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is recorded.

Today is Tuesday, December 25, 2012!
