My Favorite Building.

“To win a copy of NEW ZEALAND’S LOST HERITAGE tell us your favorite building,” I am reading in the magazine called WAR CRY 08 March 2014 on page four.

I will tell you about my favorite building and I know that I will do that with great joy.

MY FAVORITE BUILDING IS BUILT BY GOD.

1. Exodus 15:11: God is holy.

2. First John 4:8: God is love.

3 First Corinthians 1:9: God is faithful.

4. Psalm 103:8: God is merciful.

5. Deuteronomy 32:4: God is just.

MY FAVORITE BUILDING IS IN HEAVEN.

1. Revelation 20:10: The devil will never enter there.

2. Luke 12:33: Thieves will never enter there.

3. Matthew 6:9: God the Father lives there.

4. First Thessalonians 4:14 All those who have died trusting in Jesus will be there.

Apparently New Zealanders are not very good when it comes to looking after old and proud buildings. Some buildings have been already bulldozed and demolished. Eventually all the buildings will be no more, but my house in heaven will be eternal.

What a Challenge!

What a challenge.

“John Wesley used to say he held a very poor view of any Christian who did not pray for at least four hours every day …”

I am reading that in DAILY READINGS from the Works of Martyn Lloyd-Jones selected by Frank Cumbers.

Is that also a challenge for you?

THEY DISAGREE

They Disagree!

What can I say about the two ardent readers of the Scriptures? (Bible)

1. The two are true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and true followers.

2. They are both born again. John 3:3

3. The HOLY SPIRIT is the teacher of both of them. John 14:26

4. They have the same written word before them.

THE OPEN BIBLE

THE OPEN BIBLE

In spite of being devout Bible scholars they disagree on a number of points.

How do you explain that?

Please let me know!

ADDING AND TAKING AWAY

Removing the rubber band  from the neatly rolled up newspaper today, which was deposited into our letterbox, revealed that there were pages missing. The pages I cannot find are one and two and nineteen and twenty. I think that is correct. What a disappointment!

Rolled up paper

Rolled up paper

That made me think about what the Bible says about those who take away from the Bible. And not only that, but also what the Bible says about those, who subtract from the Scriptures and add to the Scriptures.

ADDING

We are to keep the commands, but we are forbidden to add to them. If we add to the commandments the Lord will rebuke us and prove us to be a liar.

The warning to those who add is this:

Everyone who adds will be plagued.

TAKING AWAY

We are to keep the commands, but we are forbidden to subtract from them.

The warning to those who take away is this:

Everyone who takes away will lose his share in the tree of life and his share in the holy city.

THE BIBLE IS SACRED AND THE WORDS OF THE BIBLE ARE NOT TO BE ALTERED!

WAR CRY GIVEAWAY

To win a copy of NEW ZEALAND’S LOST HERITAGE tell us your favourite building.

My favourite building is the CAMBRIDGE COUNTRY STORE.

Cambridge Country Store

Cambridge Country Store

The building used to be a church, but a coffee shop is now upstairs of the building. I would find it very difficult to pass through Cambridge without stopping at the store at least for a cup of coffee.

If you would ask me, “Why is that your favourite building?”

My answer would be,”I cannot answer that question!”

“STILL RESTLESS”

werner-150x150-e1367980712224“Still Restless,”  was written on the front of the camper van I saw today parked on Commerce Street here in Kaitaia. It looked to me as if the two occupants were just about to take off again.

In Psalm 62 at the  beginning David says several things:

He says that he will never be shaken.

He says also that God is his fortress.

God alone is also his rock.

He says also that his salvation comes from God and that God alone is his salvation.

HE SAYS ALSO THAT HIS SOUL FINDS REST IN GOD ALONE.

I was right, the two elderly people in the camper van were waiting for an opportunity to pull out of the parking lot to continue their journey.

I did not tell them were they can find rest, but I can pray for them. I am wondering if anyone has ever told them that their soul can only find rest in God alone.
