“‘THOU GOD SEEST ME.'”

I don’t know if the words are still there.

 I saw them written on the wall above the entrance to the big hall of the ‘WEIGLE HAUS’ in Essen / Germany many many years ago, when I was a young follower of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The ‘WEIGLE HAUS’ was a house for  boys between 14 – 18 years of age and at that time it was run by the youth pastor WILHELM BUSCH.

Every Sunday started with a Church Service at 8.30 in the morning and the whole Sunday was full of activities for the young people.

Often you could find 500 to 700 boys in the Club House on a Sunday afternoon.

I used to live in Bottrop at that time not far from Essen and loved to go there on a Sunday. The Club House was five minutes walk from the main railway station in Essen.

“‘THOU GOD SEEST ME.'” What a message!

The Lord knows when we sit down. He knows also when we get up from our chairs. He knows also our thoughts, and he knows them from afar. He knows when we leave the house. He knows also when we are lying down on our beds. The Lord knows all our ways. Before we speak, he knows what we are going to say.

I say it again: WHAT A MESSAGE!

Maybe one of these days I have the opportunity to go again to Essen. If that happens, I am going to find out if the Club House is still standing and if the words “‘THOU GOD SEEST ME'” are still on the wall above the entrance of the hall of the ‘WEIGLE HAUS.’

 In the May 2012 Reader’s Digest we are encouraged to drink  more coffee.

MEDIATOR

“LAWYER AND MEDIATOR” it says on the sign that is hanging in front of the house and I am alert. The name of the lawyer and mediator is written at the very top of the advertisement and at the bottom I read the phone number in very big print. I am always alert, when I am reading the word MEDIATOR.

My HOME STUDY DICTIONARY teaches me that a mediator is “One that mediates and interposes between parties at variance for the purpose of reconciling them.”

A PEACE TREATY BETWEEN MEN

We are looking for a peace treaty between men.

Why do we war with one another? You know the answer. The answer is: SIN!

 A PEACE TREATY WITH GOD

But are we also looking for a peace treaty with God?

We war not only with one another because of sin, we are also the enemies of God because of sin.

In an old dictionary – HOME STUDY DICTIONARY – I am reading under “MEDIATE” with great joy that “Christ is called THE MEDIATOR, being our intercessor with God.”

If you want to know  how the Lord Jesus Christ is interceding for us, his people, right now, read the wonderful intercessory prayer as recorded in John chapter fifteen. In Luke 22:32 the Lord Jesus Christ is praying for Peter that his faith might not fail.

Please read Colossions 1:20. In First Timothy 2:5 the BIBLE says:

“FOR THERE IS ONE GOD AND ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MEN, THE MAN CHRIST JESUS,…”

IF WE WANT TO HAVE A PEACE TREATY BETWEEN MEN, WE MUST FIRST OF ALL HAVE  A PEACE TREATY WITH GOD!
