TRAILBLAZERS

“ON A MISSION: Shaun Collins wants to share his love for the trail with more runners,” I am reading on the front page of the paper called WESTERN LEADER under the title “A trailblazer.” (Western Leader, Tuesday, July 10, 2012)

The trail is the 75km long Hillary Trail through the Waitakere Ranges in Auckland / NZ.

I am also on a mission, but a different one.

I want to share my love for the Lord with other people.

I have done that in Thailand and now I am doing it here in New Zealand. Yesterday I talked to someone ….. (Personal Evangelism!)

ON A MISSION in Thailand

How do we love the Lord? By being obedient to His commands. By being obedient to His teaching.

In the gospel of John the Lord says:

“‘If you love me, you will obey what I command.'” – John 14:15

And the Lord says also in the same chapter:

“‘He who does not love me will not obey my teaching.'”  – John 14:24

What are the teachings of the Lord? You can read about His commands in the the Bible of course:

Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:14-18 and Luke 24:44-49

Turn also to Acts 1:8 where it says, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the world.”

In order to be a trailblazer for the Lord Jesus Christ we do not need to go abroad.

We must be a trailblazer for the Lord in our community and in our FAMILY!.

Are you a trailblazer for the Lord in your FAMILY? Please ask the Lord to help you to witness to the ones nearest to you!

“On a hill far away, …”

P1220117

This cross reminds me of the hymn:

“On a hill far away, stood an old rugged cross, the emblem of suff’ring and shame;

and I love that old cross where the dearest and best for a world of lost sinners was slain.”

The author and composer of this hymn is George Bennard, who lived from 1873-1958.

“Call to me when trouble comes;….”

“St John answer over 300,000 calls a year. Will you answer theirs?”

How many calls does the Lord Jesus Christ answer a year?

That question came to my mind when I read that on the big poster.

Listen to this promise in Psalm 50:15:

“CALL TO ME WHEN TROUBLE COMES; I WILL SAVE YOU, AND YOU WILL PRAISE ME.”

I have called, the Lord has saved me and I praise HIM!

Where is the key?

“Scientists aim to find key to ageing,” I am reading in the paper.

We want to live longer. We want to live healthy.

We don’t want to die!

What did the Lord Jesus Christ say to Martha?

‘”I am the resurrection and and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?'” – John 11:25,26

DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?

DOWNTOWN AUCKLAND / NZ

DOWNTOWN AUCKLAND/NZ

The ticket I received on the street in Downtown Auckland/NZ entitles me to have a free intelligence test and a free personality test. The offer is only for a limited time.

“Your IQ, personality and aptitude determine your future. Know them. No obligations.” I find that information also on the ticket.

We are reading again and again about the FUTURE.

I like to read what the BIBLE says about the FUTURE. In Jeremiah 29:11 the LORD says:

“I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the FUTURE you hope for.”

I know the Lord and I have known him since I was a teenager and I want to know him more and more.

Do you know the Lord?

Psalms and Apples!

“A PSALM A DAY IS BETTER THAN AN APPLE A DAY,” said one of the speakers at the NEW LYNN CORPS 10am Worship Service.

What good advice to pass on. I like Psalm 139 very much!
