LEADERSHIP!

THE LEADER OF A SOCIETY (& HIS COUNCIL) …..

1. must have a broad vision.

2. must have unstoppable energy and drive.

3. must have a sharp focus.

4. must direct his council with clarity to inspire.

5. must be incisive.

6. must be result driven.

7. must expect his council to deliver.

The editor of  THE NEW ZEALAND GENEALOGIST, Richard Stedman, is writing about the above qualities of a leader in the magazine. (Vol 42 No 332).

He is writing that Heather Webber had all those qualities.

Notices on Doors!

Today was a beautiful sunny day in Kaitaia, in the north of the beautiful country New Zealand and while walking on our main street (Commerce Street) this afternoon, I saw two notices on doors.

One was on the door of a shop and said that the shop was closed because of a family bereavement. The other notice was on the door of an office and it said that the office was closed because of funerals.

The BIBLE says in Hebrews 9:27,28:

“JUST AS MAN IS DESTINED TO DIE ONCE, AND AFTER THAT TO FACE JUDGMENT, SO CHRIST WAS SACRIFICED ONCE TO TAKE AWAY THE SINS OF MANY PEOPLE; AND HE WILL APPEAR A SECOND TIME, NOT TO BEAR SIN, BUT TO BRING SALVATION TO THOSE WHO ARE WAITING FOR HIM.”

The seven words are important to all of us and I want to find out what the BIBLE says

ABOUT LIFE

ABOUT LOVE

ABOUT LONGEVITY

What must we do to have a long life? What must we do to see many good days?

We must love the Lord, keep his commands and fear the Lord.

We must not say evil things and tell lies. Instead of doing evil, we must do good. We must also love peace.

That’s what the BIBLE says. Please read: Psalm 91:16; Proverbs 3:2; Proverbs 10:27; Psalm 34:12

 ABOUT FRIENDSHIP

ABOUT HEALTH

ABOUT WEALTH

ABOUT HAPPINESS

Have you ever heard or read Deborah’s story? It is a true story. Deborah was “A MOTHER IN ISRAEL”.

She was a patriotic Woman. She was a woman who supported her country Israel vigorously. She was associated with Barak. We are finding her story in the book of Judges in the BIBLE in the Old Testament.

She was not only the leader (Judge) of Israel, but she was also a prophetess. And she was married. Lappidoth was her husband.

At that time Israel was in the hands of Jabin because they did evil. Deborah called Barak to deliver Israel. Barak did not want to go alone and Deborah  agrees to accompany Barak to battle.

She inspires  Barak to action and sings a song of victory. She is also bothered by the indifference of the tribes and she rebukes them.

What a woman,  “A MOTHER IN ISRAEL” . In her song she says, “Village life in Israel ceased, ceased until I, Deborah, arose, arose a mother in Israel .” Judges 5:7

Read the whole story in chapters four and five of Judges.

Deborah was “A MOTHER IN ISRAEL” and we need more mothers like Deborah.

The Christian Church is the true Israel. (Romans  9:6-8; Romans 9:30-32; Romans 10:12-13; Galatians 3:6-9) We have mothers like Deborah in our Churches, but we need more.

At this Mother’s Day let us ask the Lord to raise up more “MOTHERS IN ISRAEL “.
