“Light up your CHRISTMAS.”

“Light up your Christmas.”

Come to the “‘light of the world.'”

***************

I observed CHRISTMAS eighteen times in the darkness. I celebrated CHRISTMAS in the light for the first time when I was nineteen years of age.

What happened?

The Holy Spirit created a new life in me. That new life is called the “new creation”, or the “new man.”

I had a second birthday. My second birthday was on the 2nd of  September 1958.

I began a new life.

The new birth is also called regeneration.

The new birth opens the door to salvation, to heaven, to the family of God and to the kingdom of the Son of God.

***************

Come to the Lord Jesus Christ, he is “‘the light of the world.'” He says himself: “‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.'”

Calling or Job

“I think that most of us are looking for a calling, not a job. Most of us have jobs that are too small for our spirit. The challenge, then, is to make your job big enough to give you what your spirit needs.” – Nora Watson

When I read the quote by Nora Watson in the publication called Coffee News (Vol 128:1), I was thinking that I am also looking for a calling and not the job.

The apostle Paul wrote at least 12 letters of the New Testament. Have you ever noticed how he begins his letters?

Romans: “…, called to be an apostle…”

1 Corinthians: “…., called to be an apostle..”

2. Corinthians: “…. by the will of God,…..”

Galatians: “Paul, an apostle- sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ…”

Ephesians:  “…apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,….”

Philippians: “.., servants of Christ Jesus,….”

Colossians: “….apostle  of Christ Jesus by the will of God,…”

1 Thessalonians: “Paul, Silas and Timothy,…”

2 Thessalonians: “Paul, Silas and Timothy…”

1 Timothy: “..an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God…”

2 Timothy: “.. apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God,…”

Titus: “….., a servant of God and  apostle of Jesus Christ…”

Do you have a job or a calling?

I know what I have!

Obstacles

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off the goal.” – Coffee News, Vol 128:2

“Let us fix our eyes on JESUS…. ” – Hebrews 12:2

Why don’t we have? Because we don’t ask!

“It is OK to ask for help,” I am reading in the booklet developed for the Campaign for Action on Family Violence.

I am having here before me the “Children’s Guide to Family Separation”. Children have questions when parents break up. The guide will help answer the questions the children are having. But it says also: “If the answers to your questions aren’t in here, at the back there’s a list of people you can contact for help.”

There is KIDSLINE, Buddy Support and more.

Why don’t we have? Because we don’t ask!

“DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP,” I am reading at the end of the booklet called  “AGING WELL, How to be the best you can be.”

Why don’t we have? Because we don’t ask!

The words of the Lord Jesus Christ we find in the Bible and in Matthew 7:7 the Lord says, “‘Ask and it will be given to you.'” and in Matthew 7:8 the Lord says, “‘For everyone who asks receives.'” What a promise!

And now listen to what James says in his letter: James 4:2:

“YOU DO NOT HAVE, BECAUSE YOU DO NOT ASK GOD.”

Let us ask God more than we have ever done before. Will you?

Eight Times Every Hour!

Police respond eight times every hour  to a family  violence incident in New Zealand, I am reading in the booklet developed for the Campaign for Action on Family Violence.

Why are our relationships so unhealthy?

The answer? Because most people in this country don’t have a  relationship with their creator.

Sinners who have accepted Christ or rather sinners who have been accepted by the Lord Jesus Christ have access to the grace of God. They have access to salvation and prayer.

They are children of  God, a new creation, they are reconciled with God. They possess eternal life. They have peace. They have a blessed hope.

There is much much more……

But let me close with this promise: They are saved by Christ. “‘BELIEVE IN THE LORD JESUS, AND YOU WILL BE SAVED – YOU AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD.” – Acts 16:31
