THE BIBLE:

YOUR STEPS TO SUCCESS!

Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you;

so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.

I.  do not turn from it

1.  to the right or

2.  to the left,

II.  Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth;

III.  meditate on it

1. day and

2. night,

that you may be successful wherever you go.

Then you will be prosperous and successful. – Joshua 1:7-9

“Ready to chat housing?”

“READY TO CHAT HOUSING?”

My answer:

No, I am not ready to chat housing.
But  I am always ready to chat HOPE!

I did that not long ago at New Lynn Mall in Auckland, on my way from New Lynn Mall to Nikau Street in Auckland, and today here in Kaitaia in  a restaurant. My pulpit is the world.

Do you want to know why I am always ready to tell people about the HOPE I have?

Here is the answer:

“AND IF SOMEONE ASKS YOU ABOUT YOUR CHRISTIAN HOPE, ALWAYS BE READY TO EXPLAIN IT.” – First Peter 3:15

Read about our “Resurrection Hope” in the Bible, the Word of the Living God (First Corinthians 15:17,18).

Christ has risen:

1. Our faith is not futile.

2. We are no longer in our sins.

3. Those who have fallen asleep in Christ are also not lost.

Can I say that? Can you say that?

In his book “UNTO THE HILLS” Billy Graham is writing:

“In a network television program Malcolm Muggeridge reflected that a true  Christian ‘is longing for the termination of  life in time as one longs for the end of a long and  arduous threeweek sea voyage when one is in the last three days. I look forward to the time when my life will partake of eternity with near irrepressible eagerness.'”

CAN I SAYS THAT?

What is my answer?

CAN YOU SAY THAT?

What is your answer?

Is your mind vacant or occupied?

“Emptyness accommodates everything. I wonder if thoughts of all kinds intrude themselves at will on our minds because what we call our minds are vacant. If minds were occupied, surely so many things would not enter them.” – Yoshida Kenko

PRAYER

“THE PRAYER………” – James 5:16

What is prayer?

“Prayer is worship addressed to the Father, in the name of  Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Dr. H. W. Frost

For me prayer is talking with the Lord Jesus Christ!

“…..OF A RIGHTEOUS MAN…..” – James 5:16

What is a righteous man? Do you know?

I have learned that the Bible teaches that we will  be  judged by God according to our works. But there are our standards and there are the standards of God. Is our standard sufficient for God’s standard? The answer is NO!

What now?

Let us find out what the apostle Paul says about righteousness.

Paul talks about the righteousnss of moral effort. He calls it “the righteousness of the law”. He calls it also “my own righteousness” (Romans 10:1-6).

Paul talks also about the righteousness of God.

He makes a distinction between the righteousness of God and “my own righteouesness”.

The righteousness of God is received as a gift. Please read Romans 5:17. We receive the gift of Christ’s righteousness by believing. Please read Romans 3:22.

Judgment is coming. Are you clothed with the righteousness of Christ? Only those who  are clothed with the righteousness of Christ are justly acquitted and accepted as righteous. Read Romans 3:26

What is the central fact of the gospel? (Romans 1:17) The answer: God has provided this righteousness for us sinners.

“…IS POWERFUL  AND….” – James 5:16

Another translation says “great power”.

“…EFFECTIVE.” – James 5:16

The NLT translation of the Bible says  “….produces wonderful results.”

In James 5:17,18  we are reading about an example of how powerful the prayer of a righteous man is and how wonderful the result is.

Let us be encouraged:

“Elijah was a man just like us.”

“STRESSED OUT”

 “Keeping it together under pressure”

“Watch a funny movie with a friend”

 “Give yourself a treat”

“Go outside and do something active”

“TALK ABOUT IT”

“Take a bath”

“Do something about what’s causing you the stress. Divide into can’t fix (leave alone), can fix. Deal to one thing at a time”

That are the stress solutions I am finding in the little booklet called “Stressed out”.

“Choose whichever stress solutions you think are the most important for you at the moment.” That’s what it also says in the booklet.

“TALK ABOUT IT” is for me the most important stress solution at any moment.

In the booklet I am also reading that talking helps me  to feel better, helps me to feel less confused, helps me to feel less alone and that there are lots of people  who can help me.

I am pointed to my Family/Whanau, the School Counsellor, to Lifeline, to Youthline (Samaritans), to Citizens Advice Bureau, to a Church Worker, to a School Teacher, to Local Marae/Iwi Organisation and Friends.

Can I please point you to my friend, the Lord Jesus Christ?

I talk about everything with the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray to the Lord Jesus Christ.

“‘PRAYER IS TALKING WITH JESUS.’ – answer given by Westminster student in Sunday School.”
