COME

THE BLESSED MAN AND THE WICKED MAN

Psalm 1:1-6

INTR:

I. “BLESSED IS THE MAN

not

1. who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or

2. stand in the  way of sinners or

3. sit in the seat of mockers.

but

4. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and

5. on his law he meditates

–day and

–night.

6. He is like a tree

a. planted by streams of water,

b. which yields its fruit in season and

c. whose leaf does not wither.

Whatever he does prospers.

II. NOT SO THE WICKED!

1. They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

2. Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgement,

3. nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

END:

—For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous.

—but the way of the wicked will perish.”

FOOTSTEPS!

In First Peter 1:20,21 the apostle Peter is writing:

“But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example

THAT YOU SHOULD FOLLOW IN HIS STEPS.”

Intr.:

“Follow Me” is the command of the Lord Jesus Christ. In which places is Christ found? Think of the places. There are more, but I will only mention three here.

The Lord Jesus Christ bids us to follow Him:

A. To the FIELD of service.

Acts 10:38

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the

–Holy Spirit and

–power, and

how he went around

–doing good and

–healing all who were under the power of the devil,

because God was with him.”

Acts 20:19

B. To the GARDEN of Gethsemane.

Luke 22:39-42

C. To the CROSS of Calvary.

Hebrews 13:12,13

End:
