Sermon Outline NT (NIV)

First Corinthians 2:2

“For I resolved to know

nothing while I was

with you except

Jesus Christ and him

crucified.”

Romans 10:13-15

“for,  ‘EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.’

Intr.:

A. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?

B. And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?

C. And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?

D. And how can they preach unless they are sent?

End:

As it is written, ‘ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!'”

Footwear

When I read the word FOOTWEAR today,  Ephesians 6:15 came to my mind.

This is what The New Bible Commentary Revised says: “Feet equipped with shoes for marching (Lat. caliga) also recall Isaiah 52:7 as an OT allusion, and in the light of Romans 10:15 may suggest a promptitude of service in evangelistic endevour.”

Isaiah 52:7

“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those

Intr.:

1.  who bring good news,

2.  who proclaim peace,

3.  who bring good tidings,

4. who proclaim salvation,

5.  who say to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!'”

End:

I think we must study the Bible systematically!

Here are the first two verses of  Second Timothy chapter 4:

Second Timothy 4:1,2 (NIV)

“In the presence

-of  God and

-of  Christ Jesus,

——who will judge

———the living and

———the dead, and

In view

-of his appearing and

-his kingdom,

I give you this charge:

PREACH THE WORD;

-Be prepared

——in season and

——out of season;

-correct,

-rebuke and

-encourage –

——with great patience and

——careful instruction.”

Right and Evil

In my reading of the Bible, the Word of the Living God, I have arrived at the book called Second Chronicles. I am reading from cover to cover. There are 39 books in the Old Testament and 27 books in  the New Testament. You have figured probably out by now that there are altogether 66 books.

Many kings are mentioned in Second Chronicles. Some of them did what was right and some of them did evil.

In Second Chronicles 21:6 we are reading about Jehoram. He is a king of Judah. In Second Chronicles 21:6 it says about him,  “He did evil in the eyes of the Lord.”

Jotham is another king of Judah. In Second Chronicles 27:2 the Bible says about him, “He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord,……”

What about us? Are we doing evil  in the eyes of the Lord or are we doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord?

All Scripture is

(Second Timothy 3:16)

Intr.:

—  Godbreathed and

— useful

1.  for teaching,

2.  rebuking,

3.  correcting and

4.  training in righteousness,

End:

so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

Second Timothy 3:16

“TRAVEL DESTINATIONS TO BRAG ABOUT”

The magazine “escape” comes with the “Sunday Star Times” .

“Melbourne on a plate

Plus : Travel destinations to brag about”,

I am reading on the front-page.  (July 18, 2010)

LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT MY PERFECT TRAVEL DESTINATION.

All of us are on a journey. We are travelling towards ETERNITY. If you want to find out about eternity, you must read the Bible, the Word of the Living God.

When it comes to ETERNITY, the Bible, the Word of the Living God teaches not only about heaven but also about hell.

What is your destination? Is it heaven or is it hell?

My destination is a perfect destination. And I know, I should talk more about it. I should also be more excited about it.

HEAVEN IS A PERFECT PLACE.

Read about the perfect place in Revelation 22:1-5

Notes taken from: One Hundred Bible Lessons by Alban Douglas

1.  A place of perfect satisfaction, Revelation 22:1,2, a pure river of water of life, a tree with 12 kinds of fruit. A picture of perfect leisurely comfort.

2.  A place of perfect provision, Revelation 22:2, the leaves of the trees for the healing of the nations. Everything good, gloriously provided.

3.  A place of perfect sinlessness, Revelation 22:3, no more curse. The curse of Eden removed forever from man. Can you imagine such sheer joy?

4.  A place of perfect government, Revelation 22:3, ruled by God, the just One and the Lamb.

5.  A place of perfect service, Revelation 22:3  “… and his servants shall serve Him.” Does this thought spoil the picture of heaven? Certainly not. We serve with joy.

6.  A place of perfect communion, Revelation 22:4 “And they shall see His face.” Wonderful!

7.  A place of perfect possession. We will belong to Him alone. Revelation 22:4, “….and His Name shall be in their foreheads.” No divided loyalty. His, all HIS.

8.  A place of perfect glory, Revelation 22:5. No artificial light there. Together they shall reign forever and forever.

PRAYING (The Dedication of the Temple)

2 Chronicles 7:1-3

*****************

1.  fire came down from heaven and

— When all the Israelites saw the fire coming down and

2.  consumed the burnt offering and

3.  the sacrifices, and

4. the glory of the LORD filled the temple.

— The priests could not enter the temple of the LORD because the glory of the LORD filled it.

— the glory of the LORD above the temple,

End:

a. they knelt on the pavement with their faces to the ground, and

b. they worshipped and

c. gave thanks to the LORD, saying,

— ‘He is good;

— his love endures forever.'” (2 Chronicles 5:13)

HEAVEN AND HELL!

I am not surprised to read about heaven and hell in the newspaper, or rather part of the newspaper.

But I am surprised, that I don’t hear more about heaven and hell in the church.

The magazine “VIVA” comes with the New Zealand Hearld. In “Viva” 23 June , 2010 I find this very interesting advertisement: “Are your stairs giving you hell? We can make your life heaven with a Stannah stairlift.” The ad has also a picture.

Why I am surprised, that I don’t hear more about heaven and hell in the church?  Because the Bible, the Word of the Living God has a lot to say about heaven and hell.
