ROOTS AND WINGS

“THERE ARE TWO THINGS WE SHOULD GIVE OUR CHILDREN:

ONE IS ROOTS

AND

THE OTHER IS WINGS.”

Hodding Carter

I am reading that with great joy, because that’s excactly what the Bible, the Word of the Living God is teaching.

In Colossians 2:7 our roots are mentioned and in Isaiah 40:31 it talks about our wings.

Colossians 2:6,7

“So then:

— just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,

— continue to live in him,

rooted in him and

built up in him,

— strengthened in the faith as you were taught,

— and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Isaiah 40:30,31

Even

— youths grow tired and weary, and

— young men stumble and fall;

but those who hope in the Lord

— will renew their strength.

They will soar on wings like eagles;

— they will run and not grow weary,

— they will walk and not be faint.”

The Stars Again!

“The Stars are Comforting.”

I heard that statement today over the radio. “The stars are comforting.”star 012

People cannot leave the stars alone. I begin to wonder why?

Of course I don’t know anything about the comfort of the stars. But I know about the comfort of the one who created the stars, the Lord Jesus Christ. I have experienced His comfort many times.

Please read the following verses in The Amplified Bible:

John 14:16 The comforter remains with us forever.

John 14:26 The comforter will teach us all things.

John 15:26 The comforter will testify regarding the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 16:7 The comforter is in close fellowship with us.
