TRUST

TRUST

“Trust is knowing someone’ s got your back. Trust is knowing someone loves you, warts and all. Trust is earned, through bad times. Trust is like love – it’s hard to put into words, but you feel it. – John Kirwan

That quote is part of the article called “New Zealand’s most trusted people 2010”. And yes, I have not forgotten, that it is the year 2011.

I like what John Kirwan says about trust, especially the sentence, “TRUST IS KNOWING SOMEONE LOVES YOU, WARTS AND ALL.”

At the same time when I read about TRUST in the Reader’s Digest, I read also what Charles Haddon Spurgeon says about believing in the Lord Jesus Christ. C. H. Spurgeon says, “To believe is simply to trust, to depend, to rely upon Christ Jesus.”

I know that the Lord Jesus Christ loves me, warts and all!

Do you?

The World – Playground or Battlefield?

THE WORLD – PLAYGROUND OR BATTLEFIELD?

“When the world is your playground, 365 days in a year means 365 uniquely amazing events. Whichever event you fancy – book now and play later!”, says the advertisement on the front page. (The New Zealand Herald, travel, Octber 4, 2011)

I am interested!

Three events are listed. They are “Africa, Wildebeest Migration; Morocco, World Music Festival and Thailand, Songkran Water Festival.”

I am even more interested! Why?

Because I used to work in Thailand as missionary for 13 years.

Thailand is for me a Mission Field. The fact is that the whole world is a Mission Field for me.

I arrived in Thailand Christmas 1966 and left Thailand at the end of 1979.

Here are some of the highlights during my stay there:

Our missionary society worked in three provinces, in Tak, Sukhothai and Kamphengphat. One of the highlights was always when the Thai leaders of the three provinces came together for special meetings. A Thai was the guest speaker.

Samyong  Songsan Prasopsin was one of the guest speakers.

“SONGS FROM THE  HEART” is the book called Averil Bennet has written about “The Life of Pastor- Musician Samyong Prasopsin who gave the Thai church its own songs.”

Please get the book and read it!

Tribal people lived not very far from Tak and  it was great to have them come to our church in Tak at least one year to celebrate Christmas with us. Another highlight!

In preparation for Thailand  I had about half a year in London. I stayed at the headquarters of WEC International in London.

“THE BATTLE FIELD IS THE WORLD” was written over the door of the dining room.

What is your Way of helping our next Generation of New Zealanders?

WHAT IS YOUR WAY OF HELPING OUR NEXT GENERATION OF NEW ZEALANDERS?

“Gen W is our way of helping our next generation of New Zealanders achieve their dreams;……”

I am reading that in the Westpac flyer called “We’re helping 15o babies grow a better tomorrow.”

Gen W is the name of the programme launched by Westpac to celebrate 150 years in this country. 150 babies born this year are getting a very special head start in life. Each winning baby will receive two things, a Westpac Junior account with an initial balance of $5000 and more.. ……, and access to a  Westpac family mentor.

What is your way of helping our next generation of New Zealanders?

My way of helping our next generation of New Zealanders is….

……teaching the Bible, the Word of the Living God.

In Psalm 78 I read about the things we will teach the next generation, namely “the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD, his power, and the wonders he has done.”

It says also in Psalm 78 that God commanded our forefathers to teach his statutes and the law to their children,……. When we keep on and keep on teaching the Word of the Living God people will trust God, not forget his deeds and keep his commands.

The Churches Education Commission  do the work of  Christian Religious Education in state schools, better known as BIBLE IN SCHOOL.

I not only taught BIBLE IN SCHOOL in many state schools, but also organised Training  Days to train people for BIBLE IN SCHOOL.  Kaikohe West, Rawene, Ohaeawai are only a few schools where I taught, and most of the Training Days were held in Kerikeri.

“You have lost your AVG Protection!”

“YOU HAVE LOST YOUR AVG PROTECTION!”

When I read that this morning on my computer screen it came to my mind that I can lose my AVG protection, but that  I can never lose my SALVATION!

How do I know that?

The BIBLE says so!

Please read Philippians 1:6

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
