I read again today the Westpac Slogan “Making the most of Life” while walking along Commerce Street (The Westpac Bank is on Commerce Street) in Kaitaia and the thought came to me, “Am I making the most of my life – for the LORD?

WHAT IS COURAGE?
“YOU WILL NEVER DO ANYTHING IN THIS WORLD WITHOUT COURAGE. IT IS THE GREATEST QUALITY OF THE MIND NEXT TO HONOUR.” – Aristotle
Joshua 1:6 “Be strong and courageous,..”
Joshua 1:7 “Be strong and very courageous.”
The Collins Concise Dictionary says, “Courage, the power or quality of dealing with or facing danger, fear, pain, etc.”
MERRY CHRISTMAS?? MERRY BUSINESS!!
NO ID (identification) NO ENTRY!
I have seen already two posters here in town telling us that we do need an identification to be served. One
poster says that it is even necessary to have a photo identification. The other says that there are NO exceptions.
Somebody has said that the disciples – sheep – of the Lord can be identIfied by two marks. It says in John 10:4 “When he brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him (THE MARK ON THE FOOT) because they know his voice. “(THE MARK ON THE EAR)
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HYMN?
A lady who has travelled the world for the Lord with her husband likes to ask people, “What is your favourite hymn?” She herself is an outstanding piano player and singer. Two hymns are mentioned again and again.
Can you imagine which hymns that are?
She said, “This morning I am going to sing for you one of the songs. If you want to know the title of the second, you have to come to the afternoon meeting. I did not go to the afternoon meeting. That’s why I can only give you the title of one song.*
Would you have guessed that the name of one hymn is, “GREAT IS THY FAITHFULNESS?”
There are three verses and the chorus goes like this:
Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; all I have needed Thy hand has provided – great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
The author of the hymn is Thomas Chisholm. He was born in Franklin, Kentucky. He was a school teacher, editor of a Christian paper and an ordained Methodist minister. He wrote more than twelve hundred sacred poems.
*Probably I can find out the title of the second hymn.
