Is it a ‘no win’ situation?

We were sitting around the kitchen table and in the course of our conversation I said something like this, “You cannot win, either people feel sorry for you or they envy you. Successful people are envied and  non-achievers are pitied.” Nobody said anything contrary to that. So it is probably true.

And………. we are all on the same boat.

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 4:4 (easy to remember)

“And I saw that all labour and all achievement spring from man’s envy of his neighbour. This too is meaningless, a chasing after wind.”

Waiting in a long line at the Post Office- Personal Evangelism

“Gifts, family and meals, was the answer I received when I asked a young lady with a baby girl in her arms what she was looking forward to at Christmas time.

We were standing in a long line at the Post office to be served. I started with pointing to the Christmas cards and said,” There it says ‘Share the Joy’.”

Our short conversation finished about like this,” God gave us the greatest gift in the Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord died for our sins. Now we can have peace with God and enter heaven.”

COMMITMENT!

Today I received a letter from an Evangelist in Germany. We used to evangelize together in the north of Germany near the danish border.

The letter encouraged me greatly!

He writes about two things:

Firstly he says that he is praying for us every day!

Secondly he says that he is reading through the Bible once a year and that he has done that already for more than forty years!

He belongs to the Brethren Church.

I SAW IT ON HIS FACE…..

Today – 24. 11. 08 – I spotted four Germans in town and when I got talking to one of them about spiritual things his face lit up (a big smile) and then I knew that he was a ‘real Christian’, born from above. What a joy to meet him!

Forgot to give him my name – card. Had it actually on me.

I talked to more people today, but I don’t want to record everything!

I READ ALSO QUITE A BIT ABOUT TALKING

People really think that listening is more important than speaking.

This is what I came across today in a smaller publication:

“PEOPLE WHO SPEAK MORE THAN THEY LISTEN SHOULD CONSIDER HOW PECULIAR THEY WOULD LOOK IF THEY HAD TWO MOUTHS AND ONE EAR.”

THE BIBLE:

James 1:19

James 1:26

First Peter 3:10

Psalm 34:13

Proverbs 13:3

Proverbs 21:23
