“…,WHO STIRS UP THE SEA SO THAT ITS WAVES ROAR–“
In the course FIRST STEPS TO BUSINESS we learned that a vision statement must be clear, concise, memorable, impossible to achieve, we must believe it, it must describe the future and it must involve others.
This morning I read a Vision Statement of a local Church and maybe it is all that. Here is the statement: “TO PRAY, PRAISE, PREACH AND PREPARE ALL GOD’S PEOPLE FOR WORKS OF CHRISTIAN SERVICE.”
The Bible also says: Proverbs 29:18 in the amplified Bible,” Where there is no vision, the people perish;….”
I am so glad to see the words PRAY and PRAISE at the beginning of the Vision Statement. In Acts 16:16-40: “Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God” and things started to happen. Also in Second Chronicles 20:22: “As they began to sing and praise” things began to happen…

Over Christmas I wrote on a piece of paper ACTIVITY WITHOUT POWER and put it in my folder. I have looked at it from time to time and today I have it here before me again. I am talking of course about Christian activity (service). And today it came to me–the rain is missing. I am not praying enough. ( Compare with what I have written under the title: What is our Vison Statement?)
A teacher at Bible College told us, ” Billy Graham was speaking in the evening. But already during the afternoon there were people in the auditorium going from chair to chair and asking the Lord, ‘Please Lord, bless the person who is sitting in this chair this evening when Bily Graham is preaching the Gospel’. “
My wife’s battle with the ants never ends!
Does anybody have THE answer?
