Long ago I remember seeing road signs which said ‘ Cemetery Road– No Exit.’ There was one near Awanui. There was also one for sure near Opononi. Maybe it is still there. I remember taking a picture of the one near Opononi. They must have removed the one near Awanui. At least I cannot find it any more. Maybe they changed the name of the road.

Thinking about those road signs I am reminded again that we are all on the One Way Street to the cemetery. We are all travelling together on the Cemetery Road with NO EXIT. We are all going to die one of these days. That is sad, is it not?

At the present time we are all familiar with words like this: global, international, universal and united. The grim reaper, some people are calling death the grim reaper, is global. Death is universal. It does not matter where we live, which language we are speaking or what colour our skin is, we are all going to die. Unless the Lord comes back of course!

Death is the direct result of sin. The doctor may write pneumonia on the death certificate. But what is the real answer? The real answer is sin. Death is the result of sin. Romans 3:23; Hebrews 9:27. I have heard it say, “The one thing which unites us most is dividing us most.” And that thing is ‘sin’.

What is the remedy? The only remedy is found in the Lord Jsus Christ. The Bible says that someone must die for sin. The Lord Jesus Christ volunteered to die for you and for me. But we must believe!

The BIBLE says that we are standing condemned already and that we are under the wrath of GOD. There is only ONE way out of this. We must believe in the name of God’s one and only Son. You find the word believe three times in John 3:18. We can believe and have eternal life or we can reject the Son and we will not see life. John 3:36. See also John 5:24.
